skyrim for game of the year? : V - Skyrim

Dont know it is a difficult choice for us, PS3 owners. I think GOTY will be Uncharted 3.Then on a 2nd place will be Skyrim. After i played DA 2 Demo i am dissapointed by the game,so i guess 3d place will go to ME 3 IMO.

It depends on a couple factors. How good is Skyrim, is it truly GOTY, and the competition. As of right now I would pick Skyrim for GOTY but it's still way too early to make that decision. When December comes around I'll make my choice for GOTY.

It's my GOTY.
Don't really care MUCH it it won't get the Game of the Year award, but will be glad if it will.

Other 2011 role-playing games are [censored] cool too - Mass Effect 3, The Witcher 2, Dragon Age II, Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Also in other genres, like Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 etc.
So the competition will be great, but I hope TES V will deserve the "price".

It Depends, as I have yet to play it, could it be my personal game of the year, probly, the elderscrolls just appeals to me more than other games or series, will same apointed "important" websites give it game of the year, who knows they can be a bit funny at times.
I can imagine it picking up a pc goty award somewhere for definate, but like I said will depend on the quality of the finished product.

I'm absolutely sure that some magazines will choose Skyrim as GotY. But how many of them would depends on the game. For my personal GotY, the only real competitor is the Witcher 2, loved the first game soooo much. Maybe Mass Effect will be epic enough too.

If Diablo 3 gets out Q4 this year, couse there is a chance of that to happen and a official statement that they are doing their best to release it this year...

some epochal sheet gonna fall, am tellin ya

D3 is about the only thing on the horizon that I can see giving Skyrim a serious run for its money in the GoTY race. That would be a tough call.

Me3 will be a contender for skyrim although me2 was nowhere near the caliber of one, just my opinion.

well with RPG's i see the main competition being the witcher 2.

As for as GAMES GO...well there is battlefield 3 which at least on the pc will be the second coming of christ.

O YEAH Diablo 3 may or may not come out this year.

the main complaint against this game will be " ITS TO COMPLEX waaahhaa."

Oh yeah don't forget Dues Ex: human revolution. Lets just say if it IMPROVES even slightly on dues ex 1 then IT WILL BE game of the year.

Not to digress far, but if we could get Deus Ex with Crysis level graphics, it would be an instant GOTY all over again. I still play that game...

Skyrim's got A LOT of very good games to compete against...

IMO Bethesda already has one of the top positions for GOTY, and I think and hope it will get it, but only time will tell.

Wow, I didn't think about that. Wouldn't it be funny if they can't have a goty edition? I wonder what else they would call it.

Stopped reading right there. Bias opinions are bias. Oblivion beats Morrowind five ways to sunday for me, but for other's its different. Can't really comare the game's rpg's nature to one another, because you're just comparing opinions at that point...

This. Not to mention how Morrowind fans always claim how "flawed" Oblivion was when Morrowind was sewn with so many glitches and exploits and a clunky combat system and so on. But yeah, no flaws there <_<

Also, I say that Skyrim is a shoe in for GotY from PCgamer, gameinformer and the VGA for sure. I think either Diablo 3 or Mass effect 3 will be in second. (Diablo 3 for me :celebration: )

Skyrim will get some of the GOTY awards, ME3 will get some and probably Witcher 2 will get a few.

But in my book Skyrim is already a sure bet for GOTD (decade) - EDIT: although there is some early buzz for GOTD about this dark horse Bioshock Infinite.

TES Skyrim is going to get some GOTY award I'm sure which I would assume will probably come from gameinformer based on the sheer amount of coverage G.I. has done for Skyrim along with a few other sources. I'm guessing however that P.C. exclusives will get the left behind like the witcher in favor of muti-platform games leaving Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim as major competition with maybe Deus Ex. H.R. depending on how well recieved it is.
