Skyrim for PS4! Thanks, Bethesda!

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2016 1:14 pm

I'm aware that Bethesda doesn't actually read these forums. I'm more or less just using this as a means to publicly express my gratitude (as well as overwhelming excitement and happiness). Yes, my inner really devoted fan had been released.

Glad to see someone who's actually happy about the remaster and takes it for what it is. Hope you have fun with the game again! :)

I don't know about the community here, but this is a big deal for a lot of people I know, and something a lot of people have been waiting on.

My guess would be that if there's anyone not overly enthused, it may be because they're on a PC, and have already had a plethora of things (I.e. mods and patches) at their disposal, the ability to slightly boost graphics via hardware, and/or just have too high of expectations (expecting the game to look like it was just developed from scratch).

I play on PC and I'm also happy about the remaster. The improvement is not as big for PC users, but I'm still excited, mostly because of the more stable engine and therefore better modding capabilities.

Even though I was unfaithful about this happening, I think it's cool that it did. Heck, I have two copies for the PC, and I'd get it for the ps4 if I could use skse and skse related mods.

I've had a lot of fun in Skyrim on my PS3, warts and all, but I'm excited about the PS4 version. A (hopefully) bug-free, up-res version with mods? OH YEAH! Take my money now. Looking forward to actually being able to complete the Dragonborn DLC.

I started playing Skyrim on PS3, on 11/11/11. Glad to see others as happy about the remaster as I am. It was very unexpected but much appreciated.

I thought it was going to get to the point fans started showing up at the Bethesda offices with pitchforks. This is definitely something a great number of people have been waiting on (myself included). I'm ecstatic.

Sadly, some people actually do go on a rampage because of it. This whole negative attitude is just ridiculous. If they don't like, they shouldn't get it.

I'm not enthusiastic for the same reason I don't use graphic mods. I don't see the point. The game is not going to play or feel any different. If they added new content like Nintendo with their Zelda remakes I might have been excited.

For me, I have several graphic mods for Fallout 4 like water and cosmetic outfits with armor stats. It adds a lot more immersion for me. Especially the cosmetic outfits.

I think my statement may have been poorly conveyed. I meant that people have been wanting a Skyrim release for the "next-gen" consoles for a while (almost 3 years). I was stating, in jest, that the desire for this was going to get to the point that fans were eventually going to show up at the Bethesda offices in the form of an angry mob, demanding they release Skyrim for the PS4/Xbox One.

Yeah, I know you were joking, but it's surprisingly a lot more literal than you might think, for the exact opposite reason however. ^_^

Eh, nevermind, I don't want to go there. There have been enough arguments the past few days.

I think this is really more for console players. Many people probably don't even have their old systems (PS3/old XBox), and even those that do, those systems are probably around a decade old. Even if they could tolerate the dated operating system and controllers, I'd imagine just keeping it operational is a task of its own.

People still love playing the game (it's all we have until VI releases, and that may still be a few years), but for said console players, their means to do so are dwindling.
