@ Dragon32

Thanx, that was exactly what I'm looking for!!! This set is worth to bulid the capital city of Skyrim - Winterhold

@ Psyringe

Thanx for the maps, but I allready have them. Mountains are spread all over Skyrim (Mod) and I've allready done nearly 70 % of the basic landscaping (rivers, mountains, canyons ect.) I need the most of my time to place the statics, especially the massive forests (I've allready placed 12436 trees) because only the Haafinheim Forest takes 70 cells (of 2000) in my mod. My little problem is the "typical" differences between the skyrim-regions, the differences in the environment. It should not only be Solstheim just 10size bigger. Another problem are the alchemie-plants, cause I found no information about special skyrim plants (only the Ironnut-Trees). So I use many morrowind plants, plants which I think they could grow in that region of the first kingdom.

I will post more screens of the last weeks in a few days, cause the next 2 or 3 month I will be mainly concentrated on the 3d modeling, cause i need a collection of 15 to 20 new nordhouses for Windhelm und Whiterun and some smaller villages. If someone is willing to create some new creatures for skyrim, it would be a great help for me, and I can spend more time on building exterior (is anybody out there?)

In case you're not done yet with placing trees, have you tried Yacoby's MWGrass tool already? It automatically places statics in a mod with an existing landscape, and can choose the statics to place based on the ground texture of the area. It might not work with containers, but should with trees. Also, Yacoby is active here, so he'll probably be available if you have questions or run into problems.

Can't help with modeling unfortunately (unless you want to fill Skyrim with deformed cubes, because that's about the extent of my modeling skills ... ;) ).

Great progress so far! Nice to see you've al ready done so much! Have you considered adopting the Tamriel Rebuilt Claims system? It makes working in a team much easier.

Also, I believe you might find some resources in the TR_Data, some Nordic buildings/walls.

@Psyringe

No, the forests are not finshed, they are the hardest part of my work. 1 cell has about 300-400 Trees ALL HANDPLACED and I care that never more than 2 Trees stand in a row. The only problem I have using a tool for placing Trees is, that I don't think that a tool would take care about this, and it looks really horrible when you walk through a wild forestcell and trees stand in a row. It looks not natural. The only disadvantage of my forests is, that the Mod needs a GamerPC to be played without FPS-problems. But I never liked the Solstheim forests, cause the are just a few trees...in my Haafinheim Forest you really can get lost. Haafingar (Solitude) is deep in the Haafinheim Forest and it will be really an adventure to walk their, cause the forest is filled with wolfs, bears, goblins, many bandits and smugglers and other enemys.

@Lestat:

Hope that army of trees isn't too much for my good old PC, while working in the CS. Once had to make a lot of timber, because my PC was lacking that awfuly and I had used let's say less than 1/4 of your trees/cell.

I'm curious if my hardware is able to deal with that, lol!!!

Don't fear about it. Your claim THE RIFT has no trees :-) THE RIFT is full of ice and snow, you will get no problems with my Haafinheim Forest in the northwest of Skyrim. Also you file contains just the cells and basic landscape of THE RIFT. No placed statics, no textures.

Thanx again for your help! CRB was the only modder resource that I don't use in the mod yet. I've downloaded it now. I wanna create some new nordhouses a little bit more in the style of the old viking homes, cause the nord are very similar to the vikings. Amber Guard is completly build from Dongle's resource and the cottages are spread all over skyrim. Pirat Lords ICEWORM is a pretty good idea, but I also wanna add completly new enemys and also a hugh Ice Demon for the Mainquest.

This might actually happen, unlike the other skyrim mod. I can't wait to play it, skyrim/nords are my favorite.

OK, one last suggestion: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=218804&hl= is Ronin49's list of mods (ie.e. aimed at the player not the mod maker), however there may be some resources in some of the mods you could use either from the mod (given permission in the readme) or by being pointed to the creator's site / download.

Hey Lestat and Daywalker, nice you found your way here ;-)

Great to see the Mod growing and growing, screenshots look great as always. (Did not know them all until now, I guess...)

Hope in the near future I'll finally be able to start/continue my work, to contribute to your mod...which is what I promised, and I really want to make it more than just a promise!

Who is working on the Mod right now? Lestat, Daywalker, and who else?

Greetings, basswalker^^

Regarding creating buildings with an old viking theme: I know that in Greenland and northern North America, the vikings created buildings that were essentially hollow hills. They were round building that were built with the foundation several feet below the surface. The building was then covered in soil and grass to fit in with the surrounding environment. I'm assuming they built like this because it would keep the house warmer with all the soil holding in the heat. That is a viking style building, but I'm not sure it's the type you were thinking of :) Anyways, I think it would be great if buildings like these were created in Skyrim.

@ glen37

Hi, the Nords are also my favorites, that's the reason why I started to build my favorite province...but I'm sure that Vality will also finish his mod. It just takes so much time to build a whole province, especially if your modding in a small team or alone...Vality or me, we both are NOT Tamriel Rebuild...there is no army of modders witch helps us building exterior or interior. So please give BOTH Skyrim-Mods time to grow and to be finished with the best results.

Greetings from Vienna ( If I take a look out of my window I feel like beeing in Skyrim...snow, very could wind, very inspiring weather :-) )

why dont vality and lestat work together, ive always thought two heads :foodndrink: are better than one and im sure that with 2000 cells theres enough room for both?
and if its gonna be TR freindly you might aswell work alongside them, might even get a few people move to and from - teams are much better, no game out there is made by 'bedroom programmers' anymore, not since the BBc micro days as far as i know

I'm open for a cooperation with Vality, but I think he's not really interested in workin' togehter with a "no name" on the international modderscene like me. However he is interested I'm sure we will find a way to combine our mods.

I've also asked Tamriel Rebuild to make a post of Skyrim on their page, but they kicked my ass out the virtuel door :-)...but I could understand, TR is not interested to loose members to another project.

The mod is definitly TR fiendly, cause I took care about the whole western morrowind border, and after finishing both mods I will make a patch whitch connect both landmasses perfectly.

Eh, I've noticed on more than a couple occasions there's a bit of elitism with some modders, don't despair over TR showing you the door. Just stick your nose to the grindstone and use the doubt as inspiration, no? :P

I can't speak for the rest of the team, but I think it would be an excellent idea for TR to be as compatible as possible with any other major adjacent landmass mods. On that note, what are you doing about the world map?
