Skyrim for TES3

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:37 am

I can't speak for the rest of the team, but I think it would be an excellent idea for TR to be as compatible as possible with any other major adjacent landmass mods. On that note, what are you doing about the world map?

Hi,

the world map is a problem. I've no idea what I could do in that cause. Skyrim takes the cells from -85 to -30 and is completly invisible on the worldmap, only the regionmap will work.

It would be great if more TR member would think like you, man. Thanx!

The http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=942375 fixes the world map problem. Of course, I don't think you can use it if you don't have the English version of the game...

Another fix for the worldmap is to use the http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=utilities.detail&id=51, but it's a rather buggy program, unfortunately.

Thanx for the link, I have the english version of TES3. I've bought it when TRMap1 was released.

I believe it only increases the size of the map - it still wouldn't display all of Skyrim. I'm not 100% sure though.

Oh? Well that svcks then... :/

We'll have to order a new increase in the size of the map if that's true. :D

You are correct. The MCP expands the world map to the size of Tamriel Rebuilt.

It would theoretically be possible to expand it even further (at the cost of texture quality, as usual), but that would require Hrnchamd to program it.

I am pretty useless at using anything but the construction set, but anything you need / want doing and i can do i would. I have lots of free time (university student :P) and am really interested in learning more about modding. Your work seems of such high quality (that lighthouse! wow) that id love to be involved, even if i cannot be of too much help.

I've also asked Tamriel Rebuild to make a post of Skyrim on their page, but they kicked my ass out the virtuel door :-)...but I could understand, TR is not interested to loose members to another project.

wait, did you want us to post a news item on the main page announcing your project? of course such an idea would be shut down, out page is for our mods only. it would be like bethesda posting news about Doom or Civilization on their page. we also dont support any recruitment (which your post would be filed as if you made a post saying "hey im making skyrim come check it out").

none of us have a problem with you or your project, but it has no space on our forum unless youre asking for lore or compatibility or something.

just thought i'd post that, the screenshots look interesting. will you be using any of the skyrim resources already in the community?

Hi Lady Nerevar,

thanks for your comment, I never thought that TR has any problem with skyrim, I just asked for a support cause both had the same interest - adding new tamriel areas to TES3.

The most resources I've use till today free resources and many retextures I've made from the original models. The first own models I've use are large and medium rocks to cover the mountains. The next month more own house models will follow.

I also enjoy it to do the glaciers and snowplains of the North Shore I've started last night, cause after 6 month placing over 12000 pinetrees I need a little pause from Haafinheim.

If anyone knews more nordic or special skyrim resources, please let me know.

Hi Lidicus,

some sabertooth tigers and snow tigers will be cool...I wrote puma man an Email, but I've never get an answer. Also more fantasy based enemy creatures, but they have to fit in the environment of skyrim. Mabye I will make also a retexture of the tribunal goblins to create ice goblins, I don't know...

The reason why I'm very open for cooperation with other modders is quite simple: I'm a professional musician and every day in that job is a compectition, I not need this s*** also in my spare time.

Feel free to contact me, if you see a good creature resource for skyrim.

Thanx

... along with some penguins by Cait. I cannot find a separate download for Cait's birds.
I too have been unable to find a download of the original resource.

They are available though in http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3572 and in http://files.filefront.com/Caits+Birdies+By+KAGZ/;6866314;/fileinfo.html.

Good luck with this, Lestat, and I hope that you get the help for which you are looking.
This is an interesting and impressive project.

One thought keeps nagging at me as I looked at the screenshots.... that is; does Skyrim really look like that? Trees, Solstiem-like landscapes and dwellings and bridges, etc? I'm not sure what I had in mind exactly, maybe something a bit more like a Nord afterlife would look. Maybe frozen waters so cold they will freeze a mortal who lacks the skill to resist frost? Ice caverns and ice castles? Enchanted ice that burns/freezes/shocks you all at once? Frost giants, demons, and a supreme Nord god or family of gods (like our own Nord gods here on Earth, Odin, Thor, Loki, etc, but with different names perhaps?)

I don't know, I'm just throwing out ideas. I have no idea the specifics of that mod you just showed me. If it's still a work in progress maybe the project is still open to ideas?

Hi Arasteele,

some of your ideas sound good, BUT after reading your Thread http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=958351 I'm not sure you know WHAT Skyrim is. It's not a place like Oblivion or Sovngarde , where nordic heros will spend their glorious afterlife after dying in a battle. Skyrim was the place which the first human who came from Atmora over the frozen Sea of Ghosts choose as their "new home". Read more about the skyrim lore and Ysgarmor in the Imperial Libary. - Skyrim is a province like Morrowind or Cyrodiil.

Yes, Skyrim is covered by massive forests, glaciers, mountains and snowplains and a hugh ice demon is planed for the mainquest. There will also be a battle on Skyrim (last point of the clanquest)...after you become warlord of your clan, travel across skyrim an find 10 heroes who are willing to die for (or with) you and fight 150 enemy warriors in a canyon close the cyrodiil border.

Sounds cool, :-)...I already used the Kaarstag-model as frost giant and the Kaarstag ice castle as the "Fortress of Ice"...but man, feel free to create every creature you what, cause we definetly need new creatures...also new ice castle models will be cool, to make more variation. I've build a view keeps and castles the last time, everyone with different textures (I had a long "on night stand" with NIFSCOPE to creats 4 different textured imperial sets).

Your file will be finished next week...

Hi TamaraVico,

at the moment I'm working on Haafingar (Solitude) and maybe in 2 week I will build the basics of Winterhold. I guess new screens will take a while, because during the next 4 or 5 weeks I will spent more time on 3D modeling than the Construction Set, but after this period I will have much more house models to use on skyrim. I've also add a new town (not originaly in the lore) to skyrim. It's a large Imperial Keep in the west of Haafinheim called Arvidor. The keep takes 3 1/2 cells and there are some different districts in it. But it's also not finished yet, cause the most time I spent was on the environment.

The quests sound cool already. I'm trying to imagine what that ice demon would be like. Hopefully not just a bigger frost atronach, but that's just me. It's good to know you've already thought so much about the quests and all that! It'll be interesting to see how big Nord cities will function.
