Skyrim for the New Generation

six in video games is creepy, because a bunch of guys have to make it. But blood, gore, swearing is all good as long its necessary.

I think we should instead think how is it that them having slavery in the game will be OK, but strong language is a disgrace. I mean, slicing people's throats, killing people, robbing people, shooting people with arrows, doing skooma (which is heroine), heads on pikes etc are all OK, but blood, damn that blood is satanic and must be removed at once, what a disgrace!

skooma would actually be closer to crack cocaine.

I would like to see a different approach to gore. I can't say what that would be, but I find massive amounts of blood...juvenile.
as for swear words, no I don't want to see any modern english ones.

No, but it is the only reason I'll buy Bulletstorm.

Seriously, no one will buy Skyrim for its swearing, gore, or boobies. All that is much more accessible in other games. I don't have a problem with any of it in Skyrim, as long as its not all over the place all the time.

I think the Elder Scrolls has been lasting already long enough for people to understand for what aged audience it will be aiming for. Why to even make such a stupid topic? Elder scrolls has always been a teen game so don't expect them to suddenly turn it to some other level now. The language and gore level in the Elder Scrolls is ridiculously low already. No need to get it even lower.

Grow up.

Swearing: Well, I can say that every single teenager at my 2000+ student high school swears at least once a day, and I personally swear probably several hundred times a day. Along with 99% of the population. Get over it. Not a reason to miss out on an awesome game.

Blood: It's just blood. I mean, seriously. Maybe I'm not a total puss and can handle the sight of blood easily. I mean idk maybe 16 year olds are less squeamish about blood (especially pixelated blood) than a 34 year old.

Gore: Well...what can I say? It's pixelated. Not that big of a deal. Shouldn't bother you that much.

Nudity: Never hurt anybody. I mean I highly doubt there's going to be naked women running around in parades on every street, so that's not a concern. Aside from the fact that nudity is just nudity, and not some horrible sin, God of War, which had an actual six minigame, and dozens of naked chicks, is far off from this game. If I see 2 pairs of boobs in this game I'll be surprised.

I actually read trough bigger part of this most amusing thread, and one returning question piqued my interest: People say that our established swear words would not fit in the lore's game, thus cussing should only appear in the race's native language. With that being said however, and please do correct me if I'm wrong would debilitate all races beside Dunmer folk to express their emotions in such and no other way, since only native swears developed so far are ones in Dunmers language. And while I'm all for S'wits, and N'wahs, I really wouldn't expect an Imperial to call me names in Latin, leave alone other races which dialects we barley have any idea about. As far as human races go then, I think that some cases would be more fitting then not. What do you think?

I agree with all of the above, for the most part.

Is this sarcasm? Because if it is, it's great!

What kind of poll question is that? I'd buy Skyrim whether it had cursing and gore or whether it didn't. Why? Dragons, TES open gameplay, magic, weapons, side quests, etc etc.

I think it's important to remember blood and gore does not necessary make a game any better. It's like adding salt and pepper to a dish. Go overboard with it and it taste damn awful and give that cheap and tacky feel. That been said blood, gore and swearing is good belongs they do not over do it. Nudity, drugs and six are fine too belongs they fit in well into the story and progress it. These days most of this stuff is pretty tame anyway (well until modders get their hands onto it:P)

I only hate this stuff when it's done badly. I don't mind blood and gore but I certainly do not want Skyrim to feel like a B grade 70s zombi movie. I don't mind swearing ( i curse enough myself) but I don't want it seem unnatural or overdone. six and drugs need to fit into the story and not just be there because the Devs wanted a six scenes.

Plus, who wouldn't swear if they saw a fire breathing dragon flying over head? I think the word Fark would likely be said:P

This poll doesn't have nearly as many options as it should. I have no problem with blood, gore, swearing or anything of that nature. So long as the game is fun, who cares? And someone said they don't believe the F word was used back then, but the thing is, there is no "Back then" that we can relate to. Considering this game takes place in a different reality from our own. It's even based on another planet in a different universe. I don't even believe they speak english, but I'm not complaining.

Why cant you Swear at your Home while playing a Game and just Mod for more Blood, while Skyrim could be M Rated ;)

You have Enough Guts and Gore Games, let Skyrim stay with M16+ :toughninja:

Horrible poll, so I wont vote. I like six and gore and mature story content but theyre not the only reasons I would play Skyrim.

six will not be there. i don't want it to be in the vanilla game, modders can handle this for all i care, they've done some pretty epic jobs on this like Claudia's Little Secret, i fear if bethesda would do this it would fail and come on in the name of publicity DON'T ADD six, but i would love to see relationships in the vanilla game, and this would also relieve the modders taking care of six of a several headaches.

Drugs and alcohol... got Skooma? we already know you can get drunk, and berserking mushrooms would be nice too. but whats the point of having recreational drugs in a game like this? no, not drugs, yes to funny results form alchemy that can make you hallucinate and stuff like that.

1. You say you DONT ADD six, but go on to explain that youd like relationships. While I see your point, its kind of dumb to say, "You can have a spouse/significant other, but you cant reproduce or have six". Thats kind of the purpose of a relationship, to recreate, other than obvious benefits such as companionship. I dunno I think having relationships with no six is kind of a slap in the face. If you want a relationship, but dont want to have six the option should be there. But I dont want some nag hanging around my hideout all the time that doesnt even put out. Personally I dont care one way or the other, because to me having relationships in a video game is a dull, boring experience (GTA 4, Fable Series), but like I said I find it silly to add a relationship portion to the gameplay, but leave out pro--creation.

2. I dont get this comment. You say there is no point to recreational drugs, and "no, not drugs" but then go on to say you want alechemical products that produce the same effects as recreational drugs, such as hallucinating. To clarify: Hallucinating = Recreational Drug Effect. Besides, drinking and drugs are in TES history and fittingly have been featured in each previous game. Greef, brandy and wine are alcohol. Skooma and moon sugar are TES equivalents of narcotics.

Maybe....just maybe...Its impossible to please everybody. Especially when it seems most people dont even know what they want.

"Relationship" doesnt mean sixual or romantic. Any friends you have you are in a relationship with, just like youre in relationships with your family members. But as for romantic relationships you point out GTA and Fable, and I can point out Dragon Age Origins and Knights of the Old Republic.

Edit: I know DAO has six scenes, I just meant that not all games with those relationships are the same.

very true, and I may have been reading out of context but it did seem implied that the post was reffering to romantic relationships. Again, maybe I was just making assumptions.

As for friends and whatnot, I dont mind having them in game....but personally Ive got better things to do than juggle friendships in game. Im sure Id play around with it, but there would have to be some decent benefits to get me to 'make friends' regularly.

Mostly I play a lone wolf type character. I steal, kill, and generally do just about anything I want. I dont mind having companions and whatnot, but the upkeep of friendships in game seems like a tedious and boring addition.....I dunno, maybe Im just forever tainted from playing Fable's horrendous friend and spouse system.
