I mean, modding is great, and the PC edition does come with higher res textures (assuming your PC could even run those), but if you've never been a PC gamer, you might be surprised at how incredibly frustrating and expensive it is to keep your PC upgraded and get games like Skyrim to run smoothly. If you're not really really good with computers, I personally recommend sticking with the console... especially if you already own a 360. On the the 360, getting the game to run smoothly without turning the graphics down is just not an issue... no expensive upgrades required, no adjustments required... you're just good to go.

Frustrating? Depends if you can read instructions, match colors and match shapes, or not. That is essentially all it takes to put a computer together.

Expensive? Depends what you're aiming for. Starting from scratch with your first build can be a bit pricey. But upgrading little by little isn't that pricey.

Getting Skyrim to run smoothly? Once you meet the minimum requirements, all you have to do is play around with the video settings until it runs smooth. Not complicated at all.

Both.

XBox because of ease of controls + achievements.

PC just for modding and cheats(if the console is in).

Achievements are definitely not a good reason to choose one over the other. They're just a way to get people play game they wouldn't play, or play a game when it's not worth replaying on it's own merits solely for the increase of a meaningless number (some PC games do have achievements too but I never pay attention to them because they are still just as meaningless).
