Skyrim Freezing Problem

Post » Sun May 12, 2013 4:38 am

Hey everyone recently i have been having problems with my computer while playing Skyrim . After some time the game and my computer freeze and eventualy the computer restarts itself. This is recent because this never used to happen.

I thought it might be from my hardware so i ran various CPU and GPU tests (separately and together) and the computer never froze. The temperature also seemed fine during the tests.

These are my specs:

Intel Core Duo E8400 3.0GHZ

4 Gb Ram

Ati Radeon HD 5750

Does anyone have a idea why this is happening ?

You could try checking the event log after those spontaneous crashes. Don't be alarmed if there's nothing there though, if the system reboots without any kind of error message displayed, the computer may not have had time to 'react'. It is worth a try though. It might give you an idea as to what is going on.

Are all your drivers up to date? If not, one of them could be malfunctioning and causing the system to reboot.

First thing: turn off auto-restart on system error in the system settings area (sorry, I don't know where it is off hand).

Does your computer only react poorly to Skyrim, or have noticed that behavior with other games?
