Skyrim the ancient home of the Nords teeters on the brink of destruction. With the death of High King Torygg the flood gates of civil war break loose; the Imperial legion is engaged in a bloody civil conflict with the band of insurgents known as the "Stormcloaks". Their goal is an independent Skyrim, free of Thalmor and Imperial rule.
Many Nords wish to free themselves of the Empire’s grasp, which has been in decline since the Oblivion Crisis 200 years previous. A multitude of others want to grasp upon the unity and safety offered by the Empire.
Once friends and neighbors now are at each other’s throats.
As the war spreads like wildfire across the land, both Skyrim and the Empire are weakened. Something must be done to put an end to it. Both sides have their implications and both fight for a noble cause, that being said, both have their faults.
You adventurer must pick which side you want to prevail; the hardy Stormcloaks or the disciplined Imperial Legion.
Your journey will be full of many perils in your quest to end the Civil war.
A great prophecy has been foretold in the Elder Scrolls; one that foretells the return of Tamriel’s primeval darkness, the Dragons led by the all powerful darkened 'son' of Akatosh himself...the World Eater. The scrolls also tell of the coming of a mortal born with the soul of a dragon, the Dragonborn. One who will have the power to permanently defeat the greatest foe and end the dark reign of the consumer of worlds Alduin.
Civil War is upon you, dragons are overhead, you have a choice to make; what will it be? Hero or Villain?
Now great adventurer, free yourself from bondage; take up a blade, power a spell, notch a bow or ready an axe. Fulfill your destiny or watch as the world burns around you.

Skyrim From the Beginning: Role- Play Rules:
1: Do not post on The Role-Play wall unless your character is accepted by GM Phenix or Co-GM Griffix.
2: No character controlling- This means you cannot force another character to do something, RP that character, or cause any physical damage to them that their player does not first approve. Ways to make sure you don't do anything like that are to PM-message a character's player before engaging in a fight, or making a post in such a way as you make the attack but leave the result open.
3: Battles to the death- in RPs between players are generally a bad idea. Before you engage in a player-fight, you should always decide who is going to die or when they are going to stop.
4: Romance- The romances that are worth reading about are realistic and should take time to develop. Some Romances may pop up on you when you least expect them, some might be fast and hard and die as fast as they lived.
5: No Fast Traveling here on RP however- give, some leeway when it comes to traveling by foot/ boat or horse it doesn’t have to be exact timing when traveling between locations. The game map and the 'actual' map distances are very different. Remember Skyrim was scaled down for the game, a trip from Whiterun to Markarth would've taken weeks or at least days.
6: Decent Combat between Cast members is highly encouraged, try to get away from inventing your own made up side kick to fight with, fight some real opponents in your Cast members. Just PM them and GM Phenix a day in advance and figure it out and go for it. Readers want to see us all combat each other at one point in time plus its great fun, but remember one must surrender the fight and suffer the consequence of defeat...
7: Stay Current on Postings! Please if you missed a day go back and read the last thread catch up and get back on the RP. This site doesn’t care if you post daily or once a week as long as you are current on what the RP is about you just jump on in even if it is to say hello we want you here whenever you can be here.
8: “Setting the Scene:” When you come on and begin to post every Cast Member must set the scene for our readers and other Cast members. Add what particular time of day it is? Where your location is? Describe their state of mind, that sort of thing. There is nothing too small to include in your post.
For example with every post start out like this: *XXXXX- Morning ##:##, Horse stables Whiterun*
-------------------------
Posting Summary:
It is vital that you understand that Post are more than Dialogue. Dialogue on its own is boring, humor is always welcomed on a post. To have a good post, you should add their thoughts, feelings, how they react to what other people are saying and how their mind processes any information they have been given.
Leaving clues in your writing for future plans, vague hints at what is to come in your character's emotional life, or hints as to their past, can be fun to read and speculate about. Also always remember the element of surprise or “cliff hangers,” as we writers like to call them make RP more interesting when ending out your RP for that day.
Lastly...HAVE FUN!
