Skyrim Funerals

Post » Tue Apr 02, 2013 7:59 am

I once witnessed my loyal follower, Roggi's, death. I then took his battle-helmet and put it in a flame to honor him. Since then, I've been curious as to how other people have funerals.

So, how do you do it?

On an old and deleted character of mine. Lydia once died.
I took her weapon, put a strong enchantment on it, and gave it her name.
I then threw the weapon into the sea. Inspired on a viking burial.

That's pretty honourable...right? :D

I punch their corpse. Out of respect of course.

My Battlemage has trouble getting rid of things. When he encountered the Old Orc looking for a warriors death, he kept the sword, but since he didn't even know the Orcs name, he simply called it the "Blade of the Orsimer Elder" and put it in a place of prominence amongst his treasures. As for his remains, he was taken to the river because it was nearby.

If there's one of those gravemarker piles you see here and there, i'll drag my defeated enemies to them.

I rarely bury people in TES. Mostly followers.

Back in Fallout 3 I used to arrange funerals to dead Enclave personnel. I would put them in line, take of their helmets and put them beside their heads.
But few in Skyrim am I fond enough of to give them such honors.

I leave their worthless corpse on the ground where they fell. If they cared about their final resting place, they would have chosen a different place to die. I let the flora and fauna of the land feast on their rotting entrails and sell their equipment to the nearest junk vendor.

Of course, since it is solely my fault that a follower dies as they can't be killed by the game, only me, the above is a just a reaction based on a guilt trip.

I do not service a funeral for a fallen commrade, per se, but I do find either a mountain flower, Dragontongue, or lavender to be placed in their inventory and visit the site every 30 days and avenge their death (especially if died at a dungeon).

That just makes it look like you had them lined up and executed. You could have just collected their guns and helmets and made a row monument of those.

The helmets I did place in row. Since the troops were in a line, so were the helmets. The guns I did take, though. Never leave weapons for the enemy.

I usually let take them to a river, and let them float to the sea with whatever equipment they died with...
If I can find their body. Lydia is in space right now from our battle with a giant.

I just took a Ripper to their xenophobic asses, gibs all over the place, and then put a hand over my heart, sang "the circle of life", knowing that the critters of the wasteland would eat well tonight.

Nothing. Waste of time. The only reason I move a dead body ever, at all, is if it sits too long for my comfort and I'm tired of looking at it.
