So 70 game units equals 1 meter in Oblivion, or, more exactly, 64 units one yard. "Internally the game converts from game units to centimeters by multiplying game units by 0.1428767293691635", so that's probably the most accurate calculation. When I import objects from Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim into the same blender file, they appear to have the same relative size, so I guess this applies to all three games. I don't know if there is a way to measure an object directly in NifSkope, but in other programs (Blender, 3DSMax) this is most certainly possible. Once you have the dimensions in game units, you just have to divide them by 70 to get the correct size in meters. There is also a way to get the object into http://www.sketchup.com/ and resize it so you have the correct dimensions directly in the program, which I can explain to you if you are interested.

I will just try with Blender first. But if you want, Then I'm also curious to know how to use SketchUp to see the models.
Alright, here's what you need to do:
- Download and install SketchUp Make - it's free! (Choose "Personal Projects" when asked what you plan to use it for)
- Open the object you want to use in Nifskope. Do not select any nodes (except the topmost one, but you don't need to)
- Export as .DAE
- Now open the exported .DAE file in a text editor (e.g. PSPad, but windows editor will also do fine). Look for a line that says "
- Morrowind and Oblivion objects can even be imported with textures, if you save them in a format Sketchup can use (e.g. jpg, png, tga) and adjust the file paths and names (including extensions) in the DAE file (just below the section edited above). File paths can be relative, so if you save the image in the same folder as the .DAE file, you can just enter something like
- Now start Sketchup, choose a default template (units do not matter, Sketchup automatically imports correctly) and import the .DAE (File --> Import... --> COLLADA Files (*.dae) ).
- Now the object is imported in the correct size. You can use the "Tape Measure Tool" from the toolbar to measure lengths, and with the "Dimensions" tool (from the "Tools" menu) you can draw dimension lines directly into the model which will display the length.
