I'll take that as a no... Funny, everyone is jacked about the small things, but don't even know who the enemy is.

EVERYONE IS THE ENEMY!!! *goes off on a rampage*

Has anyone mentioned or realized that shields go on your back when not in use now?

Wait they are? I'm looking at a screen with the guy walking along the street, weapon sheathed, with his shield on his left arm.

In one of the pictures; was that a werewold or a troll? At first I thought it was a werewolf but then it just looks like a more "realistic" troll. If you look carefully it has more than one set of eyes i think. And they did say they improved how trolls look

One of the devs confirmed earlier that it is a troll.

Hmm.. You're right. But in the text under the header "Weapons of Choice" it says "and pull the well worn shield from your back" Maybe there are swappable weapon sets like in Dragon Age: Origins, and you can switch between having your shield on your back or in your hand.

I was talking about Strength, Intelligence, etc. I don't think it's confirmed that they are out.

And classes are out. Todd said "Gone is the restrictive class system of earlier games." He then continues to talk about not picking major skills, but just using the skills you want to use as you go. I guess those skills would define your "class," but as an official title I think classes are gone.

Man, the idea of not picking any of your major skills or anything sounds awful...

I'm going to post this again because it was the last post on the previous page and I'm curious what others think...Anyone else concerned with the "finishing moves"? If you have a favorite weapon it's probably going to get old real quick seeing the same move/animation over and over again...

THe fear I have is that it locks you in position as you perform the move, which I would not like a whole lot

I agree, but I'm assuming they aren't mandatory...that would make the most sense to ensure they don't get very repetitive. Just my thoughts on it.

Well there's a chance it can be more than one type of animation. Even if not, I'm just happy about the fact there are unique ones for weapons and enemies. It could have very easily been the same finish with all type of bladed weapons and all enemies.

Classes are not eliminated rather you don't just "pick from a list" like games gone by. Instead whatever you use you get better in. Your class is much more naturally obtained by playing however you want to play. Use a lot of melee...your a warrior type. My way of thinking about it is EVERY player will be using a custom class now. They just develop the skills rather then picking them at the start. They said they do still want archetypes which is good IMO.

I like it and it still works with how the old systems worked.

There were never really "classes" in previous games anyway, once you learn how the levelling system worked.

Some people even chose the skills they weren't going to use as their main skills so that they could maximise their levelling.

The interface part of the magazine talks about being able to use a flamethrower spell. Sounds sweet. Right after the flamethrower it said something I couldn't understand "unreadable, activates when a creature passes its unreadable." What does that say?

Also, the interface section says there are 85 spells in all. Really? That seems like a low amount. Maybe it means 85 spells the character has collected? I hope there's more than 85 spells.

I wonder if the finishing moves will be context sensitive like in gow? If an enemy is low on health will a prompt/button flash above them? And if certain swords/enemies have finishing moves then does that mean there could be more than one finishing move to perform depending on the weapon and enemy your facing?

There is a cool "story" from the perspective of what is going on to a player. He mentions avoiding a Giant by hiding in the shadow of a boulder...but is detected by a troll instead and attacked. Also bows are MUCH more powerful.

*edit*
Also there is one shot with a guy wearing a hood and what looks to be cloth style pants, he is shanking the heck out of a Dunmer lol!

That shot and the way the guy was getting shanked reminded me of Assasins Creed 1 & 2, of course I have been playing them both recently. I hope we do get some stealth kill abillities!

Morrowind has 137 spells...however, I would say about half of these are just variations of one spell or the other(bound boots, cuirass, etc...). If the GI article refers to 85 unique spells, I would actually be pretty happy.

You still get to pick what skills you use, you just don't pick a "class". In previous games a class was basically a bundled list of skills with some perks in each. Nothing lost just everyone is playing on "custom" ;)

Most likely it will be advlt voice actors. Talented voice actors can pull off kids voices. Not the best example but look at The Simpsons, Bart has been played by an advlt woman the entire show!
