The page that says "Inside the Interface?" It's a mountain giant.

Thanks for being so helpful. Yea I didn't know if it was a statue haha looks like he's holding a huge club or something. I can't make out the caption on the bottom of the pic can you? Also, the page with "names to remember" in the first pic is the player underwater or what? I can see the sun in the top of the pic but it kind of looks like water surrounding the area or at least it looks like the player is standing in water?

Enchanting is back? Wasn't it in oblivion?
Can someone tell me where in the article it mentions woodcutting and crafting I can't find it? I also don't see the screen with the guard and the dog?

Enchanting was a skill in Morrowind, there was no Enchanting skill in Oblivion.

The skill in Morrowind affected how well you could enchant something and the "recharge" rate.

The woodcutting and crafting is on the same page as the guard and dog. Page 52.

No health bar, magicka bar, stamina bar, compass, minimap, etc. All you see is the gameworld.

Incorrect, they only turned off the HUD whilst taking screenshots.

I can't make out the caption either.

The pic on the Names To Remember page is in a cave, and there is sunlight shining down through some opening that must be in the ceiling.

Someone said it was mentioned in the article that the HUD will either vanish when not relevant (full health, etc.) or will not be there at all.

Yes it wasn't a skill in oblivion but you could still enchant til your hearts content.

@wahoo doesn't it look like the player is standing in water though? At least his right foot is.

I think his foot is behind some rocks. You may be right though, I can't really tell.

The pic under that one is that of a cave/ruin or a town/city? Maybe its riverwood because the article mentioned riverwood quite a bid. It even mentioned the quest you get from the shopkeeper their about retrieving some golden artifact.

The caption for that one says "Skyrim is filled with crumbling ruins and ancient cities." I expect the picture is of one or the other. It looks sort of Dwemer to me, with the gold/copper color.

No but security and speech were skills, so what skills would woodcutting, smithing, mining, and cooking fall under?

Crafting?

Maybe the screen with the guard and the dog on the relates well with others page is riverwood? I'm not sure if riverwood is one of the five massive cities or just one of several towns/lodges?

I like the idea where if you kill a shopkeeper, his/her family will take over the shop. But I think it's kind of weird how even after you kill someone's father/mother/son/daughter/brother/sister/etc they are still willing to give you quests. Hopefully, the quests that you do will increase your reputation with that family rather than getting a reward. Because I highly doubt if I killed someone's family they would be giving me quests and rewards for completion, in most cases they wouldn't want anything to do with you.

Also how do you think the dual wield will work? I was thinking maybe if you have a weapon/shield in your hand, the RT/LT would be an attack button and the RB/LB would be to block. This would allow a lot of fighting styles. Holding both RB and LB would be a stronger block than just blocking with one weapon, but your counter-attack would be slower than if you block with only one weapon and counter-attack with the other. Another cool attack would be pressing both LT and RT, so you can attack with both weapons at the same time.

I agree completely. I'm really curious to see how this is incorporated. Does everyone have an entire family? What if you keep going back and killing the next family member that spawns? Will these family members only spawn if you kill random quest givers or are they already part of the world and can be found normally?

From the snippet of the story to the left of the screen it would seem that way. It really could be anyplace though. It is also described as a "small logging community" so I doubt it is one of the five major cities.

I wouldn't mind if something like this was released as DLC. It would be awesome to go back and see how Cyrodiil has changed in the last 200 years.

It looks like it could be to me. It could also be some sort of architecture that we have never seen before, such as Falmer.

Too bad the article doesn't mention anything about factions/guilds. Maybe one of the hub updates will have some insight on this? Hopefully there are a lot of guilds but for some reason I think there might be only a few. Can anyone provide some insight based on lore/knowledge of skyrim what we can expect please.

According to The Infernal City, the first Elder Scrolls novel,

Spoiler

The Mages guild has disbanded and has been replaced by two magic-based factions called the College of Whispers and the Synod. One is religious and one is secular, though I do no know which is which. I can't remember if anything was mentioned about the Fighters Guild, but there may have been and I have just forgotten. The Blades have also disbanded and have been replaced by a more stealthy secret service type faction called the Penitus Oculatus that serve the emporer.

So we can at least expect a magic guild or two. There has to be more than just that. Maybe theives again? Dark brotherhood?

Oh yes, I'm sure there's more than just the ones I mentioned. I was only providing "some insight" as you requested in your previous post :P I'm sure there will be at least one theive's type guild and one assassin's guild.

Thanks. Hopefully we can some info on the hub about factions. I'm thinking the update monday or at least one of the updates is going to be about the new engine. In the article I think it says something about going to gameinformer.com/skyrim for more info on the engine so I think that was in reference to a future hub update.

I'm liking the beards and dual wielding a lot. =3 Seems they've taken a good look at what the community were wanting and picking various bits and pieces from that.

I'm starting to think the scale of this game is more than we might think. Maybe the size of cyrodiil and shivering isles combined?

There's probably going to be a lot of wide open expanses for these dragon fights and other massive creatures.

If it's not the size of Daggerfall there's not enough room.
