Skyrim Glitch [Missing... Everything?]

Post » Mon Aug 11, 2014 12:20 pm

So basically, I just had reinstalled Skyrim, and I was doing a clean install going to reinstall all my mods, when I loaded up the game to find that literally almost every texture and mesh is missing in dungeons and prisons and certain areas. So I decided maybe it was just some annoying issue with the starting so I got Alternate Start and now basically everything is missing off of my character and the walls except for a few select things. It's really frustrating me because I haven't installed any mods yet and I have no idea the origin of the problem. I have done all the strategies I could think of (i.e. restarting Skyrim, restarting my computer, uninstalling mods/DLC, reinstalling mods/DLC)

I have no idea where the glitches are coming from and it really is starting to make me mad. It's like nothing is fixing it and I have no idea HOW to fix it.

Only thing I still have on me, is my eyes... and that's it. Just my eyes.

God, help me.

Have you the unofficial texture pack installed ???

If yes, have you other texture mods installed ???

if yes, try to disable those. !!!

----------

Verify your game cache files.

Right click steam in your game library and choose "properties"-->"local files" and click "verify integrity of game files", and wait for it to check and maybe download some missing files.

I did this, verified game cache, nothing. I uninstalled High Res DLC, and any texture mods (which I had none of), nothing.

Just install skyrim from scratch.

How:

First do a standard uninstall. (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features-> Uninstall The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)

Next, delete your skyrim folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\

Then delete your Skyrim directory under Documents/ My Games after backing up your save files if you wish.

Then under C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\ - Delete the Skyrim folder that is in it.
(You should enable to see the hidden files under windows to delete that folder.) HOW: (View - Options - Folder Options - View - Advanced Settings: Show hidden files, folders and drives)

Use Ccleaner after all this (http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner), and install your game again, from scratch. !!!!

You don't need to uninstall Steam. (However you could do that, as it only takes a couple of minutes)

-------------------

Start vanilla skyrim, and see if you have any missing textures. !!!

You have downloaded the official HD texture pack. Either way disable it, or unsubscribe the mod.

(If you are using other texture mods, it's advisable not to use the official HD texture pack.)
