Skyrim Graphics

Post » Tue Aug 09, 2011 7:30 am

WTF? every body saying skyrim graphics are no match for a 2011 game...blablabla no directx11
first to clear it up:Todd said the game texture will be directx9 based but did crysis 2 had any directx11
features before the patch? no and he still looked f*cking awsome
and after seeing the quakecon demo i was [censored] amazed from both the graphics and the amount of detail they put on the road...
the gameplay is awsome and im realy think this game gonna pwnd the hell out of all the rpgs gona come out in the next decade.

Artistically beautiful, but I've seen much better. The grass looks like green bloach in close up, the water is mediocre and the light is primitive. But the game design is outstanding, that I will not deny :)

It looks great... on the 360, anyway.

Regardless, they're great, but I've certainly seen better. The poll choices are a bit too extreme, I'd say. I'm not disappointed by Skyrim's visuals. It's quite the opposite, actually. However, Skyrim is certainly not the best-looking game I've ever seen.

The graphics are good, by far not the best, but I had no expectations of them to push high end graphics.

And I actually dont care that much either, if I wanted close-to-realism graphics I wouldnt be going to buy a TES game. Im in it for the gameplay ;P

Graphics are mediocre I think. Lighting and poor texture depth is what Skyrim is worst at, as it barely looks like an improvement from FO3, if any improvement at all.

Witcher 2 and Crysis 2 (before the patch) looks absolutely awesome in DX9... so just because a game is DX9 doesn't mean it has to look bad. I'm sure utilizing DX11 features helps quite a bit on the way though to get stunning graphics.

Anyway, despite graphics being mediocre, I'm still really excited about the game. There are tons and tons of more things to be excited about than graphics for Skyrim. It's understandable that Skyrim can't look as good as other games, when Bethesda are cramping in 300 hours of gameplay, because it's all about priorities.

Artistically and aesthetically, I think the game looks really beautiful though. This is thanks to great level design and art design though.

So whomever disagrees with you and dislikes the graphics is just ungrateful, whining and must be met with disacknowledgment?

I see.
How mature.

Graphics look very good, by the way.

I'm pretty sure the game is still in beta or alpha testing. Either they fix it, or they don't. But we are all going to buy it anyway. I think it is way better than the earlier Beth games. Like OB and FA3

Why do the poll options go from "best graphics ever" to "meh"?

It's the best looking TES game. It is very beautiful and impressive, but far from the "greatest graphics ever".

hehe people bashing before there is anything to bash on :banghead:

I have seen better but who cares about that none of the other games are like TES, so they wont satnd a chance even if they got super duper graphics they will never have this amount of freedom.

I won't judge the graphics, before I have seen the PC-version.
The Xbox360 version however looks very good for an XBox360 game in my opinion.

The graphics are fine. They're slightly better than Oblivion's, from what I saw, and they mentioned some nifty visual abilities that you just don't get from standard textured models (something about, yeknow.. snow... on.. rocks and stuff...).

Honestly, the people that are whining that the graphics aren't good enough are the reason why games often svck donkeyparts these days. I would be fairly glad to see a company use moderate graphics in this day and age, if they backed it up with some really good features. Not everyone wants to run out and buy a 2,000 dollar PC or limit themselves to consoles.

Exactly....wheres the "oh we havent actually put the disk into our system and played it for any length of time so it would be pretty hard to tell..." option?

Pretty much this...

The game looks fine to me. It is not quite as groundbreaking as the 2 previous Elder Scrolls games have been as far as graphics, but I certainly can't complain.

Biased pole is biased.

I've definitely seen better, but I'm not disappointed in them in the least. I'm very impressed by the graphics. :spotted owl:

Chalk me up for the "graphics are just fine" crowd. Especially since they're apparently going to look even better on PC with higher res textures...a little part of me is actually scared of the hours I may lose in the inventory alone, poring over the detail of every single one of my items

Hands on impressions are saying the game is beautiful. Gamespy article also said the rivers are the best in gaming.
