But, yes.

Voted no. But would have voted "other" if the option were available. Said this in previous thread but will repeat: Would like to see a selection of hardcoe variants that certain characters could choose to help spice up the game. Quite literally, I'd like to see some hardcoe gimping.

Example hardcoe variants:

- warrior - no access to magicka. Can do potions or scrolls, but cannot cast a even a little flame. Stunted stealth ability.
- mage - excepting alchemy, non-magic skills impact only 1/2 the value of the skill level (ie if mage is at level 50 of one handed they have access to level perks, but only do the max damage of someone at level 25...)
- the sneak - thief has similar gimping as warrior except warrior skills are stunted instead of stealth
- the assassin - similar to mage, everything outside of stealth is stunted (but can choose out one or two stealth skills for other things like illusion)

There could be a handful of similar hardcoe options. Would help bring some sort of class system feel back while fitting in with the new design. Even better than the previous game it would only be an option so one would not be forced to do into such a constraint.

Would it matter what you ate, and would you need to drink something? Go to the bathroom?

Yes something like they did in FONV.

Serious injury like cripple leg mend with stick from wood chopping which heal over time like stimpacks in NV.

I would totally love a hardcoe Mode in Skyrim.

It really added a lot in New Vegas and made the gameplay very enjoyable. Plus, it finally gave a use for all the food and drink laying around in the world. It never turned the game into anything very difficult or got annoying - it just caused me to be more cautious about getting injured. You only needed to drink like twice a day, and eat once a day, and sleep for six hours every three days - it didn't interrupt gameplay, but would occasionally add some suspense or danger to a long trek or dungeon where you found yourself hurt and thirsty and needed to find water as you got weaker.

They've said cooking is in the game, right? It would seem that an optional hardcoe Mode would fit in neatly with that for that players that wanted it.

It would make taverns and bars are great first visit in towns and villages in Skyrim - you would need to replenish your food and drink supplies after the journey between areas. Then you listen to rumors, get information, and book a bed for the night, then head out to explore the town and take care of business until nightfall.

I'm not sure how hardcoe injuries would work in Skyrim though - I mean, it was fine in Fallout to say that only a doctor could heal a crippled limb, but in the Elder Scrolls, wouldn't healing spells be able to take care of any injury? So if you had healing magic it would be weird to be told you needed to go see a doctor or town healer to fix that broken bone in hardcoe mode.

A hardcoe mode will only add more to the game for people who want to play it over and over again so for me its a must have!

This shouldn't be hardcoe this should be in the game on it self if you ask me .... I also would like that attributes would do something like a character with low intelligence should act like a character with low intelligence ... if you ask me ...

'You want to be in the mages guild, hahaha' ...
'You can't even talk proper' ...

I would like to see that echoed throughout the game, low intelligence and speechcraft should give you worse options when engaging people in conversation. Same goes for low strength and been able to move objects in game but I guess thats a different discussion and not on topic to the OP's thread.

For some ungodly reason, there are people who seem to want things like this, so why not.

As long as it doesn't take effort away from actually making the game work. And as long as it's optional so I never have to do it.

edit: also, as mentioned..... there've been many topics about this over the past months.

fixed.. lol. Yes i want to be forced to eat, and sleep.. drink more water than twice a day and be required to eat more than once a day. Different levels of "well fed adn hyrdrated" effect the game.. You can get by on little sleep, little food, and little water but its going to cost you performance.

Have you actually tried it? You should, it's cool. You eat and sleep, drink. Just feels so good, adds to the survival. Because...I have no idea, just felt cool to eat things. The food's there after all. Crap now I'm hungry. Adds to it also after adventuring and you come back to town, go to the inn, buy some food and drink, recuperate. But yeah, should only be an option.

Fun idea, current main character in Oblivion can not cast magic as in silence.
Stunned magic just don’t regenerate magic, a far softer solution as you can use restore magic potions and spells. Previous character was a pure mage.

Now how do you define classes? It would be much harder than in Morrowind or Oblivion where it was very hard.
I say this is something that belongs in a mod where you select a handicap at the beginning, similar to the prison irons with silence I uses. Not something who fit in the main game.

One nice thing with a hardcoe switch is that it can be used as a hook for mods designed for hardcoe play.

If it is anything like New Vegas than HELL NO!

If they do it reallly well (like the cold affects you etc) then I am all for it. If it is just a bunch of random chores you have to keep doing then NO!

Some may ask why not make it optional. Here is why.......even though the mode may be optional it spams too much health and other things in the game. This was the case with NV. There was so much freaking food, water and health everywhere the game became super easy unless you used hardcoe mode.

I am all for it as long as there are not any daily chores attached to it.
