Skyrim has an amazing chance of GOTY.

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 2:28 am

Yes, but thats not the OFFICIAL Game of the Year website.

If Skyrim wins this, they can't go out selling Skyrim GOTY versions.
Whoever wins the Video Game Awards one, can.

Are you joking? Any company can make a game of the year edition and sell it. Since when is winning the spike award for goty a prerequisite?

Are you serious? LOL

You have to WIN the OFFICIAL GOTY award to sell your game as a GOTY edition.

If a game wins a GOTY from anyone. they can sell GOTY versions and put who gave them a GOTY on the box.
its true.

Besides Infamous and MAYBE Battlefield, they all are meh.

Compared to Killzone, Uncharted, Skyrim, Arkham City, Skyward Sword, Portal 2, RAGE, etc.

ACR, La noire, Saints row the 3rd, Dead island, Dead space 2, BF3, Crysis 2, Deus ex, and Gears 3 are all fun amazing games. you're a troll.

It's a sad day for gamers everywhere when a broken game wins GotY.

I don't see a broken game, all I see is a tiny minority ( <5% out of which many are trolls) whining endlessly about something that happens to every game.

It's only bugged for a few. Sorry but if that was the case for every game then nothing should win GOTY.

I stuck between AC: R and TES: Skyrim. Right now I'm leaning more towards Skyrim.

No. Portal 2 should. That game was the most awesome thing I played for a long time (probably since Morrowind.)

Skyrim is full of bugs and immersion-breaking glitches. When it's fully fixed and patched-up, then - and only then- would it deserve to compete for GOTY.

you play portal 2 once, and then you might as well throw it away because afterwards there is literally nothing to do but play it again for [censored] and giggles.

im sorry but skyrim has much more content and playability than any of those on the list. bug-riddled or no.

I want Skyrim to win and if Skyrim doesn't win I want Dark Souls to win.. But I know that neither will win.. Zelda will win in the end..

And I know AC Revelations will be crap because 1 and 2 were good then 3rd had no reason to be made and now they are just making games for money now.. The third one should have been about Desmin only...! Not going back to Ezio to refind the Apple..

Portal 2 has no chance either.. Their is nothing to do after it is completed...

Battlefield 3 is a FPS and that doesn't really deserve to win.. Although I recommend this game.. It is a very good and fun game..

Gears of War series are the worst series I have ever bared witness to.. The story svcks and the multilayer keeps getting worse.. They would be better off scrapping the series and begin again.. Although it does grab the attention of kids on the 360 it is still a bad game..

Arkham City is a very good game.. I just don't believe it deserves GOTY.. The DRM makes the game, game-breaking..

BF3. Less of a console game. Skyrim is good but Beth are 100% sellouts.

Out of all those games, I've only played Skyrim and Battlefield 3, so I voted for both, even though I prefer Skyrim.

Speaking of BF3, Back to Karkand is released next week. (PS3 version)

I agree. We should vote in the less broken games like http://n4g.com/news/873627/batman-arkham-city-corrupt-dlc-bug-affecting-those-who-didnt-download-it, http://bf3blog.com/forum/topic/battlefield-3-bugsglitches, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1849054 or http://igxpro.net/2011/09/28/despite-a-recent-patch-dark-souls-has-new-bugs/2110139.

Or... We can all agree that games will have bugs and get over it.

No you don't. Besides, Spike isn't the "official" GOTY decider. Just like there's more than one organization that gives out movie awards.

I left for awhile and everything died down, I was loving the conversations!

And also for everybody asking about other games, I only put the ones up there that are remaining in the G4 brackets. Might as well put them all up there though.

So far I've experienced only one single crash and no weird bug (I know, I'm lucky like that ; I also went through New Vegas and Fallout 3 completely unscratched, go figure), so I'm not at all going to say that Skyrim has been a bugfest.
But I just really wish to point that "every game has bugs, so all games are equally buggy" is a complete logical fallacy.
