Skyrim has an amazing chance of GOTY.

I dont care... Skyrim is my GOTD.
Zelda is better? Find that hard to believe~ But then it has die hard fans like FF7 does... Even tho the FF series died so long ago.

Such a pointless poll to have on these forums. Did you honestly expect anything less than the majority being Skyrim? Or was the only reason you made this poll just to see a long bar? Even if it doesn't deserve GOTY, it will most likely get it anyway.

Zelda: SS is an excellent game. I don't understand the hate this game gets on these forums... Is it because it's not a sandbox game?

I want to know how Gears 3 is still in and Uncharted 3 isn't.

One of those two games got 59/72 PERFECT SCORES (the highest since Ocarina of Time), another looks exactly like it's predecessor and you play as a fat***.

Actually, if you look at both games' scores on metacritic, Uncharted 3 is merely one point higher than Gears 3. Also, if you honestly think Gears 3 looks exactly like Gears 2, you either haven't played the game yet or are trolling. By the way, I own both PS3 and 360. I think Uncharted 3 is very very pretty and has an interesting story but its gameplay if you see it as a TPS is no where as good and satisfying as Gears 3's. That's why tons of people complain about its shooting mechanic. And who wants to climb walls and jump ledges when you can chainsaw or retro-charge your enemy or shoot an enemy at point-blank with a shotgun and watch its body explode.

Skyrim and Portal 2 are the only games that should have a chance at GOTY. Of those two, I think Skyrim is better. If that Zelda trash wins, I'll know for sure there's no god.

It's hard to vote for Skyrim for GOTY. It has a ton on content, that I am afraid to touch otherwise I might glitch the quest related to it that I have yet to start. I have 4 seperate quest that I can't move pass, as they are glitched, whether something fell through a floor or just bad programming. Several are in dungeons I have cleared earlier that somehow ruined any quest it is tied to. In a games like this, exploring is my favorite part. Now I am just afraid to touch anything. Well unless you are on PC, then you can make the game have teletubbies as NPCs.

It will win GOTY I am sure, but I don't believe it deserves it. Other games might not have 30+ hrs of play but they are polished and playable. Fan boys shall one day doom us all.

This just makes me realize how poor this year was game wise huh. Skyrim doesn't deserve Goty imho, but it has no real competition so they'll probably take the prize home.. Dunno why the Witcher 2 or Dragon Age 2 didn't make the list.

Nintendo has admitted that, yes, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has a game breaking bug. What is this bug and how can you avoid it?

The bug makes it impossible for players to complete the game’s “Song of the Hero” quest. The save file becomes corrupted meaning that players either have to use an earlier save file or start again.

Goodnight Zelda, you had a good run

Zelda is the better game. AC though is no doubt to be Game of Year. Skyrim is a joke this release compared to the previous TES games.

A poll like this in the Skyrim forum is pretty much guaranteed to be biased.

I played Dark Souls in October, and Skyward Sword is arriving in the mail tomorrow... Dark Souls was an amazing experience, but not a true contender. Skyrim is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I have a feeling the match-up between it and Skyward Sword will be a tough call. Skyward Sword is being hailed as the best game in a beloved quarter-century-old franchise, got a 10/10 even from Edge Magazine, and also actually works and isn't riddled with bugs — that's a bit unfair to a hideously complex (behind the scenes) open-world game like Skyrim, but people in general don't see it that way.

If I had to guess, I'd say Skyward Sword is more likely to get the actual magazine GOTY awards than Skyrim. On the other hand, after I finish Skyward Sword I'll probably never replay it, whereas Skyrim (PC) will end up lasting me a lot longer.

A games complexity is no excuse for a game to be riddled with bugs. If they needed a another year to release a game that worked out of the box, I would rather have waited then my experience with SKyrim be ruined because of a day one game glitch, freeze, corruption, clipping issues with dragons, quest lines broken etc. etc. etc. That is like saying a BMW has a lot of technology but "it's ok that the tire falls off", were as a Honda that is very simplified and nothing happened at all. Sorry, I don't buy that excuse.

After playing almost every game on that list, the one that blew me away most was Arkham City. Couldn't believe the quality of gameplay, graphics, everything. Took me completely by surprised (I never played Arkham Asylum). Besides it, Skyrim or Dark Souls I think should win.
