Skyrim has an amazing chance of GOTY.

Glad Skyrim's doing this well. It's running against Portal 2, which is arguably my other favourite game this year, but Skyrim's definitely my GOTY.

I personally do not think that it deserves this particular GOTY or any of the dozen or so other GOTYs that will be announced in the coming weeks.

When you break your own game with patches you do not deserve a positive award.

You say that as if the patch breaking the game (which it didn't for me and pretty much 99% of other people), was intentional... which is clearly wasn't.

I would like either Skyrim or Portal 2 to win. If it's either of those I'd be happy.

Well, Skyrim is currently killing Portal 2 in votes, which makes me and millions of others extremely proud and happy.

I like Skyrim but I'm rooting for Portal 2. A well done, complete, polished and absolutely amazing gaming experience. Valve does not disappoint (except with Steam).

This is a joke. Skyrim is far better than any of the competition.

Yeah, have fun with that.

Also, Portal games are short.

I swear Bethesda's blind defenders sometimes get out of my nerves...

Of course it wasn't intentional, but there's something called "betatesting". And something else called "a patch is supposed to fix existing bugs, not add tons of new ones".

And yes, it did broke the game even for me, which I thought I had no issues. And I don't know exactly where are you getting that "99%". Go see the support forums and most surely you'll be forced to lower that percentage. A lot.

Was just going to post this. You beat meh.

I'm happy for Todd and the rest of the crew at Bethesda. They've been getting hammered with patch complaints, this is a nice relief to see.

You do understand the people with bugs will be a lot more vocal? Judging things off these forums is a very stupid thing to do, as the people who can play the game are doing just that.

And it's more around 95% + (according to recent polls on a few sites - which of course isn't enough information for anything.. but it's better data than what whiners have come up [nothing].)

Wow, this was a pretty shi*ty of determining what game is the best. I mean seriously, how is 1 v 1 possibly going to determine that?

No. Portal 2 should. That game was the most awesome thing I played for a long time (probably since Morrowind.)

Skyrim is full of bugs and immersion-breaking glitches. When it's fully fixed and patched-up, then - and only then- would it deserve to compete for GOTY.

Obvious troll. Portal 2 will give you MAX 20 hours play time. Skyrim is 200+. Hell there is people that hate skyrim that say the first 20 hours were awesome then I started to hate it. Don't bring up bugs either because I bet 20 hours of skyrim you won't encounter to many.

Considering the competition it should be GOTY... but that's because the competition is bad not because Skyrim is really deserving of it.

Would be pretty sad if an unfinished, buggy game like Skyrim would make GOY :-(

Skyrim has lots of bugs, but don't look past all of the INCREDIBLE things this game offers.

The only reason the flaws stand out so much is because the rest of the game is so damn good.

Well, if you don't wanna give credit to the people of the forum, go see more than one gaming site who has echoed about the 1.2 patch flaws.

For Azura's sake, even Bethesda has said they'll be making declarations about the patch soon. How blind you really devoted fans can be?

Skyrim has sold more than 4.5 million copies by now. Assuming there are over 5000 people who ever complained about something on the forum, 5000/4500000 *100%= 0.1%, so yeah, an estimation of 99.9% of the customers are satisfied with the product, including me. Take me an example, I have played Skyrim for over 90 hours on my xbox, and haven't discovered a single game-breaking or noticeable bug yet. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Lol at Gears of War 3 beating Dark Souls. The casuals need to stop voting and go back to playing CoD and smoking bowls.

I really don't want an argument about the patch here, I just want it to be a discussion about the GOTY. If your gonna argue, take it to the PMs or the 100000 other patch topics on here. Thanks.

I think what you meant to say was that Skyrim has no chance of not being Game of the Year. There just aren't any games that match it's quality and content.

And the people who doesn't complaint or complaint in other sites/forums? Those doesn't count?

Look boy, I'm not interested in stadistics manipulated in order to make your position look better. I'm only reflecting what many people are having. And I've played 130 hours and discovered only 1 game-breking bug. That's pretty ok for me (despite the bug being in the middle of the MQ), but if you release a patch, just make sure to test it previously so it doesn't make things WORSE.

I really don't want an argument about the patch here, I just want it to be a discussion about the GOTY. If your gonna argue, take it to the PMs or the 100000 other patch topics on here. Thanks.

Noted. I was done arguing anyway.

Do the maths, Gears of War 3 has sold over 4.5 million copies, and Dark Souls has not even had 1 million copies sold yet. That alone explains why Gears 3 has more votes. Plus, a lot of people who support Gears 3 are not COD audience.

Wish I could say that, but then all those non Skyrim lovers who for some reason came to their official forums would charge in, I don't need that.
