Same here, but look at MW3, it's way back at the beginning of the brackets. I'm no fan, but surprised. Oh well, Skyrim GOTY here we come!

To be fair, the only big games without major/medium bugs by the release that are in the finals are Dark Souls, Assassin's Creed and Portal. Being that only one of them is as big as Skyrim. No one of them having as many content as Skyrim has.

Wow I can't believe they put Skyrim vs Minecraft, or even consider WoW or MvC3 for GOTY. Who does this? Are they serious?
Don't know but I'd worry more about TLoZ:SS eliminating Skyrim rather than AC:R.

No. Portal 2 should. That game was the most awesome thing I played for a long time (probably since Morrowind.)

Skyrim is full of bugs and immersion-breaking glitches. When it's fully fixed and patched-up, then - and only then- would it deserve to compete for GOTY.

there is no official GOTY, which is why GOTY is such a loltastic award

anyways if you look at it seriously, skyrim is the only game to release this year to be fun for more then 60 hours, which means it was the only game worth getting this year, which means it should be goty.

I haven't played it myself, but I heard it was great. Sorry, but Skyrim will be kicking it out of this race.

People are so impatient this days... I mean, who would return in Skyrim for things that (at least for the game-breaking things) will be fixed in later patches?

Portal 2 was definitley up there, but me and many (MANY) others have been playing Skyrim pretty much bug free.. and Portal 2 doesn't even compare.

Just an opinion of course.

I dont quite understand this Goty stuff, its like every game web site does there own. So as long as any one of these thousands of sites makes skyrim goty, bam they get the title and get to re-release it later on with that on the box. Why not just go with whatever game sold the most in 3 months or something.

Not surprised. A game with 30x the content and breadth of every other game in the running gets some slack for bugs.

When it does win it's just a push towards a bigger budget for the next TES and Fallout games.

Portal 2 eh? Yeah, its a lot like portal one, They shouldn't be doing GOTY across categories. I like Portal 2, but it lacks the replayability of Skyrim, thats the key thing here.
It's cool and all but not GOTY material, in my opinion. I'd think Skyward Sword would be main contender.

I personally do not think that it deserves this particular GOTY or any of the dozen or so other GOTYs that will be announced in the coming weeks.

When you break your own game with patches you do not deserve a positive award.

I'd say G4 is the most popular site to do it though, in fact it's the only site I've actually noticed doing it.

If they did games sold, Call of Duty would win every year, sadly.
