Skyrim has become repetitive.

Every game gets repetitive if you play it too much in a short period of time. Take a break.

^this^
yeah i go play another game or a different genre like an action adventure or FPS then when i come back to SR it feels so fresh!! nearly 90hrs here and i have just been hunting giants and getting skins off animals for the last few hours lol!! :)
like the guy above said, everything will get repetitive if you do it TOO much, so a break is nice!! :)

also it kind of makes me laugh when people say there are over 100hrs in etc and there is too much samey gameplay lol!! this is double or triple the length of some titles out there so i think you got your money back anyways! :)
roll a new character, play a completely different play style, mix it up a bit!!

Agree that QUESTS are becoming repetitive for me, the DUNGEONS, on the other hand, still fun and exciting. Dungeons are what keeps me playing this game now, I can tell it's not gonna last long though.

I think it's a matter of perspective. For example, Starcraft bores the heck out of me while other people play it non stop for years.

I've been playing Civilization II for 16 years and other people will get bored silly with it in no time.

If you are playing it aaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll the day, of course it get′s repetitive... EVERYTHING is repetitive if you do it for more than a certain time. Remember the marginal decreacing utility principle, ... simple. :toughninja:

pd: wow, it should be very sad you ¨burn¨ the game like this... it will be YEARS till a game of this quality... we will have DLC′s and then Mass Effect 3, but this should at least last the Winter, not just 2 weeks guys..., the game won′t dissappear. :obliviongate:

I finished Dark Souls, the latest highly touted RPG, before I started Skyrim. While it was an incredibly tough game to play (for me) and was filled with exciting enemies and the best combat system I've ever played, once you met an enemy you knew exactly where it was placed and exactly what it was going to do. There are Youtube videos of players finishing the entire game in some ridiculously short period. Not just the main quest but the entire game (the quest is the whole game). My replay experience for it will be limited to developing a new character and strategizing how to beat the minibosses and bosses with that character's strengths and weaknesses. No more exploration, no more discoveries, certainly no side quests.

I look at games with a bang for buck approach. At 50 hours in I’ve paid about a buck an hour for my experience with Skyrim so far. If it turns out anything like Morrowind or Oblivion, I’ll be paying only pennies an hour to play it. I can’t say that about my other video games.

I think people are not reading some of my other posts in here. It's not about being burnt out at all, it's about doing the same thing over and over. I actually have played and beat BF3, MW3, Dead Island in between playing Skyrim. I'm not one of these people saying I rushed through everything and am bored with it, the fact is I have yet to really touch the story. That's why in my edit I say maybe I'm making my opinion rather quick. I'm gonna start doing more and see where that takes me. I've just left Whiterun so I should have a ton of game left. Also exploring is fun. Most all the 50 hours of gameplay is exploring. I started the thieves guild after I started this thread and now I'm starting to see diversity. I should not have jumped the gun and I should of known the guild quests would have been more involved and better all around. I also just found something up on a mountain that really makes me think the story is gonna start getting really good. I'd rather not say what it is because of spoiler reasons but it's by far the coolest thing I've seen yet in Skyrim. It has me thinking and is getting me excited to see what it's all about.

I agree. Every quest (almost) involve me going to a dungeon to retrieve something or kill someone. It gets repetitive and I would like to see morr meaning to what I do betetr stories. Right now quest are only there to give me a reason to go to a cave and fight the evil guys inside, no more no less. Why dont they use their beutiful created land and place mroe quests in the outdoors? Would certainly appeal much more tahn cave after cave..

This. I've grown to hate dungeons.

every TES game is essentially a dungeon crawl. That's the game. If people don't like dungeons, they won't like a TES game.

I love TES games, and I find much more stuff for everyone in the game other than dungeons.

I wander around doing repetitive quests till it starts feeling repetitive THEN I progress the story along and then something major happens and then I need to slow it down by doing some more MISC quests. It's worked well for me and I been playing since day one.

I suggest not rushing from a quest to the next. That gets repetitive. Do other things too.

I started liking the game only after I completely disabled the Compass from the top of the screen. This made exploring and enemy avoiding much more interesting. It was brainless with the Compass.
The other thing is that I roleplay. This means doing stuff like going to a tavern just to get an ale. I've played the game about 60 hours and I'm only level 24. I'm not bored yet.

Edit: Too much fast travel use makes the game boring too.

Exactly.
The game is meant to be played without fast travel. You understand that as soon as you cease using it. The carriages next to the cities are there with purpose ;) It is kind of hint.
Without fasttravel Skyrim is much more interesting.

I also turned down the markers - all of them from the .ini file and that also halped a lot. But unfortunately due to the lack of any kind of journal it is sometimes difficult to find the right npc you need for your quest. I have a number of quests that were started before I turned down the markers that I can't complete because I dont remember where exactly the npc stands. The map just points you at the approximate location, the rest you need to do on yourown. And without markers the towns aren't that small at all. -)) Now I listen really careful when I am been given a quest. lol

Edit: I am at level 43, 77hours in the game and I haven't yet been to Riften and Solitude and another some dwemer city. I happened to be close to Solitude once (the terrain looks like slumps in that region, right?) I saw the Solitude farm, but decided not go further since I had no specific business in there... Also I want to see what the patch will bring.
Just started the main quest and took one of the sides in the war. :)

Edit2: When it gets repetetive, I just take a pause from it.

It doesn't seem to be meant to play without fast travel to me. There are no means of transportation in couple of biggest cities in Skyrim - no carriage in Winterhold, Dawnstar, ... And come on - just this one, restricted way of travel? Remember silt striders, boats, teleportation, divine interventions, mark and recall? I certainly would be happy if the current fast travel system would get removed in favour of those more immersive ways of travel.
For me, clicking at the marker on the map seems a lot like cheating - for me, because I'd rather like to have some climatic way of travel; and on me - because developers didn't include any other possibility.

After the intro animation one could hope for a carriage ride across Skyrim...

To get to downstar you may walk or use a horse. It's not that far from a city where you can travel using the carriage. I think it adds to the immersion.

Edit: but having other options of transportation would be appropriate of course... Like ships for example.

All I have to say is : mods. Remove compass, remove "quest hints", and just go on an exploration spree. Screw objectives for the sake of objectives; try to get there on your own and see just how much more you see of Skyrim's world. It makes the game more interesting, despite the fact you don't "accomplish" anything usual.
