Skyrim Has Gotten Really Slow

It speeds up and slows down in regular intervals. It especially slows down during combat. It used to run really fast.

Alienware M14xR2

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M

I used to run a lot of mods with tweaked INI files but now I'm using the default INIs and cut my mods down to exclude most graphics mods.

Here is my current load order:

Potentially mod related issues go in the mod forums, I'm moving this thread for you.

No but I had no issues there in the past. It used to be able to run great with a few graphics mods on top of the High Res Pack. Besides every time I disabled another mod to see if the problem was there it hadn't changed the lag much. Now I have all the graphics mods disabled and it's still slow.

Defragged your hard drive ?

Defragging now.

Run BOSS to check mod order ?

I always run BOSS when I add or disable a mod.

I ran into this problem. I have no idea what set it off, but I found turning down/off AA and anisotropic filtering made a big difference in performance. Another setting that seemed to help was turning down shadows.
