Skyrim: High Resolution Texture Pack (Free DLC)

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:33 pm

Well, if that's the way its gonna be no more DLC for me. This is just too frustrating. I only marginally care about the high rez textures and its already more than its worth to me to lose an afternoon or maybe day when I actually could get to play.

dam it, stuck at 70% and download been on pause for last 15 mins.
Don't worry it will resume on its own when bandwidth is available, mine did.

Thanks! Sounds pretty big. Time to take a second look at my textures folder when I get back and re-evaluate things :D

Think about it -- creation kit, FREE 3GB DLC and Skyrim on sale. Normal DLC would not hit the servers nearly as hard as this for a number of reasons... I think you can figure them out.

It's only available via Steam.

"Thanks" Bethesda AGAIN, no download links, no download mirrors, only [censored]in steam. This is an abuse GStaff...

So I want to download this, but the Steam store page seems to think I already have it installed. I don't. Is this happening to anyone else?

Also, are there any mirrors for this yet? It's free DLC, so I don't see why we should need to download it through Steam...

Can someone also compare FPS before and after the DLC?

OK I went to Whiterun and ran around jumping like an idiot.

And for me I seen it got from as high as 61 down to 48 depending on what I was doing with no high res pack. With the high res pack it went as low as 44 FPS depending on what I was doing. In my opinion it isnt doing much to hurt FPS

What it is suffering is loading times. Leaving Breezehome took over twice as long with the high res pack than without.

Where are you seeing purple placeholders?

I haven't ran into anything broken, but I haven't exactly played with it much.
mostly clothing textures. both high res esp are active, both bsa files are there.

Guess Skyrim is going to set yet ANOTHER Steam record

Well we don`t have much choice do we? You have to have the game on Steam and get this pack through Steam, ergo Steam ahas everyone who has the PC version of the game on it!

That`s not so amazing when we have no choice.

Anyway my textures have downloaded.

Is this just land related textures or all textures in the game? Just wondering if I should un-install ALL of my skyrim high texture modes for things like lanscapes, clothing, weapons/armor, dragons, etc.

Theres something wrong here. I didnt download nothing (besides the 40 mega of the CK), and the only option the DLC give me is play the game. But when I click, the steam servers are busy message pops up..So I cant play the game at all now.

Two BSAs, two ESPs. (The esp's are just empty placeholders, so that the BSAs get loaded. The actual texture paths of the objects have not changed, so any texture replacer mods you have will still work).

It starts to download automatically once Steam servers are less busy. Just wait.

I can't play the game and I can't download the HR-pack. And in fact, I don't mind. It will work again.
