Skyrim Hub update Jan 10! 2

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 11:49 pm

This whole GameInformer thing is really irritating. Just give us a time for each update ffs.

:lmao:

... They ain't gonna. :P 1) it ties them to a schedule and expose them to mighty whining if some delay happens 2) who wouldn't want to have tons of potential readers hooked up on their site, prolly reading while waiting ? Plus that kind of mania is contagious. God knows I'm irritating myself to be waiting, I don't ever do such a thing.

how can you be so sure? :poke:

Because we're the Elder Scrolls fanbase. Someone is always disappointed because we are the most violently broken base on the internet, except for maybe, maybe mind you... uh... well that's the damndest thing, I can't think of any. But I guarantee you that every single decision Bethesda makes will result in at least a few cries of "Elder Scrolls is ruined FOREVER!"

And then I'll laugh and wait for more info. Just like with Oblivion.

Well unfortunately for them I don't visit their website, I just wait on here till someone puts up a link to the new content. :P

Same, but then I remember American culture.

You know, if youd just give them a chance, most Americans are really down to earth, honest people.

On topic: Im hoping it will be some more info on Radiant story or AI. I dont expect any type of screen or other multimedia.

I'd definitely really like to find out more about the Radiant story mechanic. If only a promise that, yes, they're actually going to follow through with it this time.

Finding out about how perks are going to work along with the skill system would be nice, too, and would hopefully put a lot of fears about the smaller skill list to rest.

On the cover reveal page, they say that the "translating the cover" thing was the first installment of a couple of stories that will come out over the course of a month.
Am I misinterpreting the English language here, or does that mean that they will most likely put up another poem / other new lore text that gives some vague information on the new setting?

If I'm not misinterpreting, then that's not really something to be excited about, I think.

Will it appear on the hub or the homepage first?

It basically means the same thing as always: they will be giving new bits of information piecemeal over the course of the month. The poem was just a fun way to start, the rest will likely be more conventional.

Speak for yourself.

Some of us think "another poem / other new lore text" would be especially exciting.

Yea I think some are expecting a little too much out of these hub updates. Most of last months tomb raider ones were lackluster so if skyrims updates are anything like those then they aren't going to be much. Better than nothing though!

Because there will always be people who are disappointed. They might whine about the graphics looking bad or the fact that the image isn't an actual in-game screen shot. Could be many things.

Not me, I'd rather have some more gameplay details. I don't spoilers on the storyline.

Heh, if it's just another poem I'll be mightily disappointed. I want some clear information about the game.

I'd say "Alduin's the villain" is pretty clear, but I agree that more conventional information would be welcome.

People will be disappointed.

Unless they throw in a gameplay video that's unavoidable with this ridiculous hype. :P
