Skyrim's Inconsistencies.

Then there's hunters in the wilderness, hunting deer and rabbits. And they yell at the rabbits: "never should have come here!" WTF? That's supposed to be a hunter?

Lulz

Swinging trap door hits me in the face, I walk away fine. Swinging trap door hits lydia in the face, she ragdolls

Bandits call me friend, then proceed to attack me

My assassin sneaks up on an unsuspecting guard.
I prepare to instantly take him out with a charged power attack... My stealthy thief hacks into his foe's undefended back while bellowing a brutal warcry. The stricken guard screams a last, desperate scream before flopping over like a wet noodle mannequin.

His fellow guard, a mere 15 feet away hears nothing and continues obliviously staring into space.

dragon fights troll. troll wins.

giant fights troll. troll wins.

troll fights frenzied troll. bear comes out of nowhere and wins.

seriously, frost trolls are the freaking champions in my game. i always come across them fighting something else and they always win. easy enough for me to kill, but they have seriously taken out dragons and giants.

Does anyone else have problems with animations?

Mine never seem to work right, either lagging, stopping in the middle, or not even happening at all.
its really annoying, especially when even fallout new vegas had better animations

*loading screen*
something along these lines
'Giants are dumb brutish creatures that will attack those who pester their mammoth herds.'
Picture:
Giant scratching his chin in a philosophical stance.

I'm pretty sure the loading screen talks about how they're fairly peaceful creatures.

Hear everyone fear that dragons are unkillable beasts, bringers of the end times...
Watch bear and troll kill dragon.

Actually according to Lore anyone can fell a Dragon, but it will simply reincarnate or regenerate in time only taking it's soul which can only be done by a Dragon or Dragon Born will truly kill it. Though them bears and trolls be scary beasties O_O

Don't have a meme picture for this one but I remember stealing a Horse in Windhelm (and i'm absolutely positive nobody saw me), then while travelling to Riften I spotted the wandering bard. I paid him to play a song and when it finished I got back on my horse and he started yelling "HELP! THIEF!". Apparently the Horse is still classified as "Stolen" even when NPCs who had absolutely no relation to the crime can report you? Just another reason why Horses are so useless in this game...

This was true in Oblivion as well. I have no idea how anyone could know a tomato I stole in Whiterun and dropped in Winterhelm (as an example) is a stolen tomato, but there you go. I'm just glad certain things, like crafting supplies, can be laundered.

I think this is to do with the Infernal City novels. For whatever reason, Bethesda decided to make them Canon, so thats why we're stuck with so many inconsistencies

It is said that things written in books can be bad information or wrong.

The Mage in dragons reach always saying "if you have the aptitude you should join the mages college in winter hold". Clearly he doesn't know what rank I hold there!!

It's like Bethesda consists of two teams. The first team does an awesome job with the visuals, sounds, making it look awesome and immersive. Then, a second team comes along and tries to destroy everything. The head designer of that second team is responsible for ideas like putting an epic, dragon-slaying hero in jail for stealing a tomato and stuff like that.

That second "team of disaster" was there in previous TES games too. IMO, they should have been fired by now because, clearly, they've no idea how to design consistent games.

They're consistent. Consistently bugged.

Random priest just gets finished killing 3 frost trolls on his own, bare-handed.

Dragon flies by and he runs away shouting, "I'm not sticking around to fight a dragon!"

The whole 'You shotued! You must be dragonborn.' thing isn't really inconsistent. Before you shouted the guard saw the dragon magically dissolve and pour its energy into you, then he tells you to shout to see if you are dragonborn. Because the whole fireworks sure made it seems like you are. Then you shout and he goes 'You shouted! You must be dragonborn'.

Well that's because dragons have just come back thanks to Alduin the son of Akatosh. So yeah, theres a lot more dragon bones and scales floating around, so i could see how it would be easy to acquire.

I'd also like to add

Does anyone else feel like there should be some other better type of armor forged from dragon parts? i mean c'mon, you kill like 4-5 dragons and u have a set of dragon armor, which isnt even the best armor for heavy armor users.

Just feels like there should be a harder armor to craft, one requiring more materials, and rarer ones from harder dragons.

You're missing the point cleric >.<... just because there are tons of bones and scales floating around doesn't mean any layman can pick it up and knows what to do with it, smithing profession is something that you learn, techniques that's passed down generation to generation... for your character to somehow KNOWS how to craft dragon armors within months is very unlikely even if he does have the items to make them

become the arch mage wearing the arch mage clothes and the whiterun court wizard says "If you have the aptitude you should go to the college in winterhold"

Hold on a minute i'm the f*****g ARCH MAGE you blind son of a [censored]

edit: damn beaten to it

Not to spoil the mood - I dont know if the game considers having an outfit to imply public knowledge of rank - but this could be similar to some folks seeing my Sensei in karate-gi and 'advising' him to go to Shotokan. People see no difference between a regular black belt and a 8th-Dan Sensei.
