Skyrim.ini bBloodSplatterEnabled=0 causing CTD

[ScreenSplatter]
bBloodSplatterEnabled=0

I added this to the end of Skyrim.ini, and whenever I look at my map, the game CTDs.

Does it require a complementary setting somewhere?

That setting disables the blood spatter. Any particular reason for doing so?

I don't see why it would have anything to do with the map...... but, I didn't write the game code either. :)

Exactly...Using those lines in skyrim.ini your game will crash to the desktop....it's funny though !!!!! [ CONFIRMED ]

but...YOU COULD USE THIS MODE INSTEAD: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/471/? :wink:

If your looking to reduce the gore in the game, you might look for some mods that already do that. However the Blood Decals would not be a hit Frame Rates, so I don't think removing them would improve performance.

So, the question is, why do you want to remove the splatter decals?

They're just...... ugly.

I was reading the GeForce tweak guide, and making some cosmetic adjustments. My FPS already stays between the high 40s and 60 (where it's capped), so I wanted to try some of their tweaks.

Got to this one, saved the ini file, loaded up the game and opened the map to look for some place to get into a quick fight. I was back to the desktop before the map even opened.

Reloaded and tried again, same thing. Removed those 2 lines, and the map loads.

I only made this and 2 other tweaks.

In SkyrimPrefs.ini, I put: bTreesReceiveShadows=1 and bDrawLandShadows=1. I removed both of those edits and tried the blood splatter edit again, and CTD.

It isn't a game breaker, I just don't want blood splatter on my glasses... :yuck:
