As a mage, part of the fun was studying magic ad it's effects on thing's with the spell creation.

I really hope it's in the game because not only does it remove combat options but also role play options. I want to feel like a scholarly mage.

Well, in response to http://twitter.com/MMAMIKEYMIKE/status/31530569896558593, Pete Hines did say http://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/31536458334470144.

@MMAMIKEYMIKE They're hugely important to me, and us. They just need info, and info that won't change, which isn't always feasible RIGHT NOW

So maybe by "RIGHT NOW" in context to what he said previously, he means that the info may change later on spell making.

Then again, I could be interpreting and reading that wrong because of the fact I just woke up 5 minutes ago... :dead:

I don't know how important spell making was for most people, but I'm not seeing the problem, I can still find and buy spells that are just as powerful as the ones I could make, don't forget that spells have added side effects, like frost drains stamina, lightning drains magicka and fire has a dot, sure it's for role play and such but in my honest opinion I think there is a misunderstanding in the translation, I think it means you can combine spells TO create new spells. Not that you cant take a spell to the spell making alter and play-around with it.

-the compass will also show up when you get a new quest with a "v" quest-marker on it.

<_< i hope that's removable.

That's one reason I like the old system better (black bars that revealed what was typed when you highlight them). The button for the current system is just calling out for you to click it. :ahhh:

Most likely it will be removable. One of the European magazines says that NPCs are going to give precise directions to the player.
It would be absurd to have a GPS marker on the compass and instructions from the NPCs at the same time, since the compass would just point straight to the location...

edit: sorry for the double

I'm re-reading the magazine and I noticed some new infos:

new confirmed enemies: Undead Dragon Priest, Yeti

From the article it seems that the Dragon Priest is a sort of guardian of the "dragon shouts walls" (not sure about that, it just pop up when the player approach a wall and he puts up an hell of a fight).
It seems something like a big daddy to me, which protects walls instead of little sisters

Maybe the Undead Dragon Priest is the guy in http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l584/Rivendell139/wordwalljpg-1680x0.jpg.

Yeah, I'll agree with that one. Though, the question about fast travel that he was responding to wasn't that great.

I think you're right, that place seems like the one where the reporter meets the dragon priest, as described in the article.

"quests are dynamic. even the rewards and the quest giver are randomized"

Hmm, so that mean that I can complete a hard a** side quest and get like 10 gold (septims in skyrim too?) as reward?

Or complete a easy side quest and get a 10000 gold?

I don't think it will be completely random

"Quests are dynamic" refers to Radiant Story.
And Radiant Story does not equal randomness.
Radiant Story means that things in quests (locations, rewards (I think), enemies) will be set appropriate to certain factors. These factors could be places you've visited before, what you've done before for the quest-giver, what weapon you have, etc etc.

What? Who is hellmouth and what is it right about?

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/user/393389-hellmouth/ is a pretty awesome member of this forum. I'm going to assume in the context of what was quoted he meant Hellmouth -at some point- probably made a joke that people would start committing suicide over nothing.

Depending on your level the answer is quite possibly yet.

I'm glad with most of this information. But I would like everyone to keep in mind when asked about combining spells in the building better combat update Todd Howard said:
We're not talking about that,” Howard says with a smile. “We're not sure. We'd like to; it'd be awesome."

BE PATIENT.

And when asked about combining spells in the Dutch magazine he said:

"It is not yet possible to combine forms of magic. It is difficult. Frost magic makes an enemy move slower, and fire does damage over time, and the fire remains on the ground for additional damage. If we would allow the player to use fire magic in one hand, and frost magic in the other, it becomes much more complex. Maybe we will implement this though, but for the time being, 'No'."

Key words: "For the time being."

As I said, be patient. It may very well be in, and if it's not you may find the alternative is more interesting than what we had.

He didn't miss the point to the question he was given. The question was if Fast travel would be optional, which it has always been, not if there was an alternative form of fast travel.

True the question wasn't phrased brilliantly, but what's worrying is that he is showing exactly the same line of thinking that people justify Oblivion's shoddy fast travel system with.

I'm beginning to doubt children are in the game. No big deal. To my knowledge, none of these magazines have touched upon this - with the exception of Game Informer (whose "young boy" comment was changed to "someone" in the online preview). I'd think someone would mention these very specific NPCs being immortal along with the quest givers.
