Skyrim Italian Coverage Thread #2

As disappointing as the omission may be lets not forget spell making hasn't been in all TES's just like starting off in prison isn't some sort of tradition.

I'm beginning to doubt children are in the game. No big deal. To my knowledge, none of these magazines have touched upon this - with the exception of Game Informer (whose "young boy" comment was changed to "someone" in the online preview). I'd think someone would mention these very specific NPCs being immortal along with the quest givers.

the Italian magazine describe a quest in which you have to rescue a kidnapped children

Which TES game didn't have it? I didnt' play Arena, but I know it was in Daggerfall, Morrowind and in Oblivion.

Key words: "For the time being."

As I said, be patient. It may very well be in, and if it's not you may find the alternative is more interesting than what we had.

How rude. I believe the correct term is "Little People". In any case, it's good to see Peter Molyneux's influence live on.

Why do you always bring up Molyneux and Fable?

Uh...

Edit: oh, it's a genuine, on topic post... could have fooled me.

the two things that popped out at me right away are the compass appearing when you get a quest and a v mark on it.............does that mean there is in fact a quest arrow. the next thing was the soulgems recharging your magicka.......which means they must have lowered the regen rate or gotten rid of it......if thats the case AWESOME. no more infinite spell spamming. whoot whoot!!!

from the description of the additional spell effects and setting oil on fire it sounds like they took a que from dark messiah. :)

Should fatigue not recharge either? Because I hate sword and arrow spam.

<_< i hope that's removable.

Of course, it should be possible to de-activate the quest you are working on if you don't want the compass to guide you.

This is very easy to do in Oblivion, FO3 and FNV.

He didn't miss the point to the question he was given. The question was if Fast travel would be optional, which it has always been, not if there was an alternative form of fast travel.

Someone should tell him that fast travel was not optional in Arena!

Just because Oblivion's magic system was overpowered doesn't mean that magicka regen should be axed completely. It just needs tweaking.

-Steam, not gfwl. they're are disappointed with LIVE!
Gravely unfortunate tyranny, yet expected

-you can't create spells. WHAT THE HELL??
I won't miss this, though I know many will. I imagine the new mechanics made custom spells no longer feasible.

-there are many puzzles in the dungeons
This has tremendous potential and is one of the new features I'm most looking forward to.

-water physics
I haven't heard much pvssyr about this, but I expect it to be awesome. I always thought it stunk for every stream to begin in a rock. And, I was disappointed with the way flowing water was unaffected by player interaction the way still water was. This will likely add a lot to the overall beauty and immersive visuals.

-every town has an economic system
I anticipate being able to have a real impact on the world by either providing or destroying a town's resources.

-you can set oil on fire
That'll be awesome. Just like in the wildest action movies!

-different kind of weapons work in different way with enemies (I think something like "blunt weapons do more damage to skeletons")
I like this. It makes sense and gives the player a reason to choose the proper tools for the job at hand.

thats why i posted either they lowered the regen rate or got rid of it. either way is acceptable to me....although i would prefer a slow regen. i used supreme magicka and adjusted it so that it took 2 minutes to go from zero to full magicka bar. this worked out great because if i finshed a fight i didnt have to do anything since it would more than likely charge up itself between then and the next battle but if i ran out of magicak midfight i used a potion. i actuallly had to use magicka restore potions which i NEVER had to use with oblivion default magic settings. i hope they do it similar to my set up.

Welkyd stones recharged your magicka too in Oblivion. So it doesn't necessarily mean that magicka regeneration doesn't work in similar way. Unless magic is seriously more powerful, regenerating magicka is a good thing.

if its slow. i literally never had to use a potion or a welkynd stone with vanilla oblivion magic. it made potions and stones useless. hell i didnt even realize that you could use welkynd stones until my third playthrough.

The absence of atronach is the only negative thing I've heard yet... I'll miss this birthsign.

The magazines sending information that contradicts one another is really irritating. One magazine says there will be snow like oblivion on the ground, and the other two say the snow will accumulate over time. Its a little irritating.

Also, I really hope a magazine confirms Attributes some time soon, I'm guessing they will still be in but you will probably level them with perks.

If they're still in, I actually kind of see them taking an nGCD approach to leveling. That being using certain skills corresponding to those attributes will have them raise automatically.

Though your method sounds great too. I just really hope they are still in, or they have a good enough system to replace it.
