One thing that has always been apparent to me whilst playing TES series is the heavy influence from legendary fantasy writers such as Raymond. E Feist, Gemmell, Hobb and many more. Arguably the most obvious is Feist's mythical world of Midkemia. Even to start with the name Crydee (Feist's favourite dukedom) and Cyrodiil sound like two cousins. My hopes are that Skyrims story and general feel stem from a wealth of research and knowledge into Norse mythology from authors like Tim Severn, Giles Kristian, Cornwell. After all much of our culture (Northern Europe, UK, USA and some of Eastern Europe) can link back to ancestors from either Saxon or Danish heritage, if you are young or lacking in understanding please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxons.

Just playing a game heavily orientated around Norse type mythology, playing as a towering menace built for strength and speed, smashing into your enemies with razor sharp tools of destruction screaming blood and death! Playing as a Lord of War in your own domain...exciting stuff. I am glad they have decided to base this game on Skyrim.

My plans are to make my first play through as Me..everyone knows what I mean, what you imagine yourself to be in the context of the world you play in. I will then be making an Uthred and for my final master piece once I have worked out how to ace the game I will be making a THOR. Smashing dragons brains in with Mjolnir.

I also hope to make a Druss...arguably the greatest fictional character ever.

My character is going to have next to no Norse influence. I don't care that much for the style.

I'm going to play "myself". A proud Imperial Fighter.

After a bit I will go make a dummy save and just tear the [censored] game world up,Kill people til the "is unconscious" pops up.

I always had a love for the burly warrior, so I plan to play a Nord with a axe in each hand, maybe use a bow, or if there in the game, throwing axes.

YES!!!!!

I wonder if you can hold two battle axes in each hand as one of the percs..realistically it wouldn't work (I have tried swinging two blunt 10lbs felling axes in each hand and its very hard)

I have a small forest axe that I use when hunting and camping. Axes are great for crafting and felling but have little to not use when hunting

I assume your referring to using 2 handed weapons in one hand, I doubt it, TES is quite a grounded game, I doubt we will see such over the top stunts.

I will probably play as a mix between what I am, and what I would like to be. Just like myself, I will play a Nord character, with bright blue eyes, and at the same time copper skin and dark hair. A typical bastard offspring of a viking chieftain and one of his south european slave girls (interestingly enough I can trace my ancestry beyond the Viking sagas, but at least every second century my ancestor is a bastard child).

My fictional history for my character will make him the bastard child of one of the chieftains in Skyrim, left to die in the woods as an infant, but saved by the beasts of this land. He will call himself Sammael Drekison (Sammael as the fallen angel, and Drekison means Son of the Dragon/Dragonborn in old norse).

He will carry a Nordic broadsword (perhaps longsword) and also use magic powers inspired by the powers of Rand in the wheel of time (as he is the dragon reborn).

His clothes will be as realistic Viking as I can find in the game. He is neither good nor evil, but does whatever necessarily to achieve his goals.

You were the first post and lets be fair it was a negative one considering what this thread contains. My thoughts where, "why did he even bother posting, if he doesn't get it and hasnt even bothered to say what he would play as?" so I decided to ask what type of character you would have, all be it a little sarcastic. You took it way to seriously and starting getting angry, at which point I asked myself, would he behave like this in reality..the answer is an obvious NO because he has the safety of his home environment.

In reality I really couldn't care less about animé or manga or whatever it is your passion in life is, your entitled to your opinion and I am pleased for you but that doesn't mean you have to share it and feel the need to enforce your beliefs at every turn. I dont know you from Adam and I have already spent far to much time responding to your insults and claims about my personal qualities etc.

I will be an Imperial vigilante-assassin, and try to meld Skyrim back together as an Imperial province (and kill those who I see as a threat to the Empire, along with "common" criminals).
