Is skyrim just a game?

Post » Wed Sep 07, 2011 8:39 am

Yes. All video games are JUST a game.

Those who take games into the realm of reality are belittled and mocked (cosplayers) They bring shame on themselves and their families for having too loose a grasp on reality.

That has nothing to do with what the OP is asking.

He's asking whether Skyrim could be considered a form of art 10-20 years down the line.

Some Skyrim books would be nice.

Most write about Mass Effect and Halo.

Ofc it will. Morrowind is still the ultimate game for me, even after 10 years.
I have tried hundreds of games since then. Can't even remember the names lol
(Oblivion is a great game too, ofc, but Morrowind is a true masterpiece)

It's only epic to you if it is personally epic to you. For some it might be epic.. for others it'll be meh. .. In your list I only agree with 2001 as epic.. everything else I would say is meh.. to.. ha ha what? Everyone views things differently. I'm hoping I will think it's epic.. but the older I get the less epic things become. I blame time and my memory. Just think how much more fun and epic things could be if you could erase your memory of past events so what your doing now is all new and shiny.

The Stand got a meh out of you? I understand if you never read it, but if you read this brick of beauty you would throw anything but meh at it. Trust me on that.

I haven't played it so I can't say for certain but I'm sure it will be better than 99% of the stuff that gets made nowadays.

Skyrim will be legendary.

It will be legendaryierererer than finding a rune of golgonar in a 5 man raid in the pits of halgorth with a dark elf shaman without 5+ elvish luck or his dread snout spirit guide

And the 1% of stuff that equals Skyrim in bestness will be completely different categories of production.
You know, the true 3D television, underwater cars, sky kingdoms and statues of Todd Howard erected in my garden

But if you haven't played Skyrim, have you really lived? Are we even alive right now, or merely in a state of limbo... waiting for Skyrim to whisk us away and bring us to a deeper state of reality :obliviongate:

Skyrim will not just be a game. It will also be a knife, scissors, plyers, filer, screw driver, tweasers, and toothpick.
