skyrim lack of info problem.

Post » Sat Oct 08, 2011 9:02 am

ok so seriously... im as hyped for skyrim as anyone else, but the lack of info is really bothering me... all im saying is the lack of info is a problem because no one honestly knows what the game is like at this point... for all we know there is probably a ton of stuff that a lot of us are not gonna be happy with and we wont know until the final product.... is the game not going to be as polished as it can be? and therefore they are afraid to release more content at this time since they are so far from finishing? we know nothing except that dragons can fly and breathe fire and when you swing your axe it looks liek it doesnt even touch the target... which they say is improved and there were alot of bugs they "say: have been improved... but where is the proof? where is a ten minute walkthrough talking about and showing the improvements they have made and reassuring us that we are gonna have a polished final product?

It's going to be like oblivion, and morrowind before it, just with a few new changes to systems etc. All tes games play the same for the most part. If your a fan then you'll love most of it, and hate a few things. Buy for pc and you can change what you hate.

People need to calm down and use some rational thought. The game releases in just over a month, dont expect new info or footage.

i know, im not expecting it... im saying, what are they trying to hide? all great games give regular updates to their upgrades and keep the fans in awe at the game's epic scale... skyrim seemed to show off great ideas and left teh rest to imagination? is it because they couldnt deliver?

I'd rather have Skyrim's scant information than the bloated, overdone hype machine that was Oblivion public relations.

Lack of info? Really?

I guess you haven't paid attention to the fact that EVERY recent magazine/website preview article has been about Bethesda giving journalists access to the entire world of Skyrim for one hour, and guess what? EACH JOURNALIST EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT! Which is, IMO, the best marketing idea ever.

Skyrim launches in 1 month. Relax. The only reason they removed things from Oblivion is because they got final 360 specs way to close to launch. They had been developing around estimated specs. That's not a problem at all this time.

Lack of info?
I'd say that they have given us more enough, plus people a chance to play the game for themselves and Pete answering/confirming questions. Bethesda have been very generous.

Seriously... there's so much stuff I've been avoiding it, so that I don't spoil too much.

About the only info that could really be put on the "Be nice if they released this" list is specific PC & PS3 footage, and PC system requirements. Other than that, there's TOO much info, honestly.

A certain russian website has info from Game Informer that talks about getting into the Dark Brotherhood. Hmm, orphanages.

So much paranoia lately... why can't we all just stop. Relax. Take a deeeep breath.

Have you even seen the Skyrim info thread on this forum? Hundreds of tidbits ready for consumption.

Seriously, Bethesda isn't going to release a piece of junk. Sure it'll have some issues like every game they release and every game any other studio releases. They aren't hiding deep dark secrets of broken ports, Microsoft scandals or lost puppies. Well maybe lost puppies.

They have attended trade shows. They have allowed hundreds if not thousands of people 20 minute sessions. They have held interviews with journalists of all types. Do you not think that perhaps this is a strategy? Let the word of mouth spread rumors of greatness like wildfire.

I'm not sure what else you are expecting. They're not going to release video of every beast, every city, every environment in the game. Perhaps they don't want to spoil the discovery of these things when we actually play it. Perhaps they want everyone to be so filled with anticipation of what's in store we can't do anything but run to the store on 11/11 to buy a copy.

I agree completely. We knew way too much about specific quests in Oblivion. Especially the DB line. I'm looking forward to being surprised, good or bad, I'll take that over knowing the quest lines prior. The one thing I wish we could get our hands on now, are the perk trees. I know we've seen some perks, but not all and we still don't know how they feed one another or the req's. At least that would give us something to chew on for the next month.

This, I wouldn't complain about the lack on info. In fact I hope they don't tell us anything else till release.

Perhaps it's not that they're trying to hide any faults or problems but want people to be able to experience the game for themselves and have a few surprises along the way instead of knowing everything about all the aspects of the game?

At this point there's more we know than what we don't know.

And would it kill people to put a [censored] ounce of energy into proper sentence structure and punctuation?

Or maybe, just maybe, they want to suprise us :blush2:
ever thought of that? no? well maybe you should just worry about the negative about the game after its released when people upload reviews and gameplay and you can judge of that then.
until then, i wouldn't worry about it.
