Skyrim leveling problem

Post » Sat Jun 08, 2013 12:03 am

Think of it as specialization. Previous games had major and minor skills, but in the long run this division meant nothing. Now it has an impact on your game - you can't master every single skill, you need to focus on those most important to you. It's similar to a class system except you're not restricted from using non-class skills, they'll just be less effective.

And if you still feel uncomfortable with the new system, you can use the legendary features and keep levelling up until you attain all perks you want. It will be incredibly boring, but the option is there.

You learn by doing. But if you don't basic knowledge of certain materials (like dwarven metal) how you're supposed to know how to forge items from it? This is whatthe smithing perks are for.

Same princible applies to other skills.

Well said.

Black ... Smithing. You see how it should be, doesn't mean you can make it from scratch.

Because that's how the system works. You get one perk point at level up regardless of how many skills you leveled up. Therefore you think CAREFULLY about which perk you want.

How come someone know how to upgrade armors, but not know how to create those armors?

Every car mechanic know how to create cars actually, they only have no money and not able to buy factory to create engine parts, but they know how to create cars, they only have no material. But if you give them the materials to create a car, they can create a car infront of you, good or bad is another matter, but they know to create a functional car

So how come a smith who have advance knowledge in smithing only know how to upgrade armors they found but not knowing how to duplicate them?

A smith that know how to upgrade daedric armor, but cannot make one while having all the materials?

Overpower stuff is another matter, it's related to game level design, skill level design is another matter

At level 1 you have level 15 to 20 enemies who give you 50-100 damage in one hit, what you call that? So it is another matter

What i want to talk about is level up problem, it don't fix Oblivion problem, it create new problem

You seem to be the only one who seems to think there's a 'problem'

So you make a choice. I see no problem is pressing a couple of buttons and picking a perk.

All those skills at 50, you have levelled up more than enough to take just one perk.

Are you seriously suggesting that a system that gives you choices is inferior to one that assigns the perks for you? Please don't, you will be one of those guys they actually listen to when designing the next game.

[Make two Oblivion characters, get all their skills to 100. Make two Skyrim characters, get all their skills to 100. Do you see the difference?]

Why?

Let say I already choose to become a warrior, so i am good in warrior skills, why i have to choose only ONE perk on each level up to upgrade the warrior skills i am already choose to train in the very beginning?
