Probably more, Todd Howard says something about 200 hours of gameplay on the podcast.

Considering how many people still play Morrowind (and Daggerfall for that matter), I think it's hard to beat something with a nine year head start. When Morrowind dies off then we'll have a decent guess as to whether Skyrim can outlast it.

Read this and popped over to the Mw Mod section. 1st page, 13 topics, all showing today's date. I find this incredible for a 9 year old game.

So, what will the Skyrim section be like in 2020? Feels like a long way away. Pop back in 9 years and we'll chat ;)

In comparing vanilla content, I think it'll be on par with Morrowind and second only to Daggerfall.

Lets just sya that the only two games permanently on my hard drive are Morrowind and Oblivion (in heavily modded form) - I hate to think the hours racked up between them but it will be in the thousands - well spent. I hope skyrim will be number three.

It sounds like potentially more.

Combat sounds like it will be actually fun - neither Morrowind or Oblivion had that.

The perk system means actually unique characters, unlike in previous games where any character could get potentially max skills/attributes.

We'll see about the game world, but it sounds like they're working on making plenty of landscape eye candy which TBH is one of the best reasons to play TES games.

I think I'll definitely spend more time with it than Oblivion, whether it'll beat Morrowind it's hard to say - but part of Morrowind's length was how painfully slow your character moved. >_<

Same.

I spent around 500 hours on Morrowind (very rough estimation) between 1500 and 2000 hours on Oblivion (more accurate) and I estimate I'll spend 1500 hours or more with Skyrim. :celebration:

Thank you Bethesda.

As long as the game doesnt finish at the end of the main quest I will play beyond. I hope the missions vary and have different styles to them.. I cant wait!!!!

From the way that the devs are talking, it sounds like Skyrim will have more longevity.
With the new A.I. and the way that the game mechanics seem to work, I can say that I believe this about 90%.
Besides, I've been waiting for a game in this province since Morrowind, so Skyrim will probably have even more longevity for me than for most other people.

So far I'm rather expecting to see more than/same as Oblivion, far less than Morrowind.

Both lasted me for a long time, but I think that Skyrim will offer us much more to sort of work with as a frame work, resulting in longer life potential

I hope Skyrim is long and it's something that I can keep playing over and over again.

Curiosity? Boredom? Creating a topic that shouldn't really cause flame wars between different factions of players? Etc. Why comment in a topic just to ask whats the point, that in itself is rather pointless, no? :P

I agree haha. Really it is bordoem at a crappy job and figured it would pass time

honestly I feel like this one has the potential to be endless even with out mods. Randomness plus DLC could cause more randomness which in turn creates a potential for never ending expirence. The Radiant AI thing has me more interested than anything else.

I'm gonna have to say the same longevity as every other elder scrolls game, just because each one provides infinite longevity.

At least if you terminate fast travel and replace it with Morrowind's transportation system. I won't play Skyrim until I have that :P

The way they describe the leveling system and the perks and the radiant story... I won't have to buy another game until TES VI
