It's like saying: "Hey man, did you just see that awesome Lambo? Why can't we all have that type of car?"
Difference is, Mr. Consumer here has four kids, and the guy driving that Lambo bought the car for its looks and speed. Each consumer buys based on what they do. In the same sense, each game runs based on what it has. Skyrim just won't be able to get that much graphical power.
Ah, now that's really something I can relate with. It's like the choice I had between getting Half-Life 2 or Crysis back in '07. One looked really cool and shiny. The other was actually fun to play.
I had an NVidia GeForce FX 5200, so I really had no choice back then. But after upgrading, I went and downloaded the demo for Crysis because I was curious, To me, it was as if they added a so-and-so shooter aspect to Terragen 2. There isn't much about Crysis to me other than the novelty of being able to run the damn thing.
I still play Half-Life 2 to this day, and that was back from the summer of 2007. Sure, mods increased the lifespan of the game, but it was the core gameplay/story experience that made it great. FakeFactory's Cinematic Mod solved the dated graphics over the years.
