no mods are made for computers, skyrim made for consoles, computers can be better, but bethesda wants everyone to play it so they make a game that people can handle

Quite frankly, Bethesda doesn't care about that stuff. They would rather everyone enjoy the game with an equal experience than only appeal to people with high-end PCs that can use those mods.

Besides, graphics aren't everything, and Skyrim will kick Morrowind's ass in gameplay.

When I watched that I would've sworn that it was built on Oblivion's engine . . .

Modded Oblivion>Modded Morrowind

Also, the general animations and fluidity issues with Morrowind can't really be fixed by mods. Great game though, especially for its time.

An animation replacer is actually included in the overhaul.

We're comparing a modded game to a non-modded one. Wait for some Skyrim graphical mods to come out and then we'll see just how much better it will look.

Graphics wise right now I consider modded morrowind superior to modded oblivion, probably even superior to what skyrim looks like right now.

Yes, it does look better than modded Morrowind, from a graphical point of view mainly due to the higher poly models.

I'd say from an aesthetic standppoint it's a matter of opinion. ATM I feel more Morrowind inclined, but it depends on my mood.

Correction: we're comparing a 9-year old game to a brand new (yet to be released) one. Granted, computers back then probably would've exploded trying to run this, and consoles at the thought of running this, but I digress.

I'm running the Overhaul, and don't notice particularly improved animations. The Meshes and everything in general are still jagged, and the game lacks geographic detail. Honestly, Skyrim looks a thousand times better than the Morrowind Overhaul.

Also, some issues I Have with the overhaul, are things like Vurts trees. A lot seem way too big and out-of-place, particularly in the Ascadian isles. Some of those trees are nearly half the size of Red Mountain itself, and the "Vanilla Friendly" version, has a lot of issues when it replaces the tall hardwoods with smaller, stouter trees, resulting in "Floaty" trees you can walk under.

Overall, it's amazing, but if you, for one minute think the MW Overhaul looks tangibly better than Skyrim, you're drinking from the PC Elitist cult's juice basin. Especially when you get into playing it, you realize all the "Beautiful Screenshots" are really just showing off one thing, the occlusion lighting.

If it looks jagged it's because something's borked or you need AA or something cause everything looks smooth to me and I don't have any problems with floating trees did you get the updates I believe they fixed some issues like that. The animations are improved but they aren't really that smooth. Probably not going to happen as the game wasn't designed for animations like oblivion.

Was that really necessary? Up yours to I suppose.

We're comparing a Modded game that has been released for almost a decade to a game that hasn't even been public knowledge for a year. This is like the L4D2 announcement all over again :shakehead:

Not so long as I'm considered a cultist for having an opinion I'm afraid.

The animations are improved but they aren't really that smooth. Probably not going to happen as the game wasn't designed for combat like oblivion.

Read a little bit more, I said only with Vurt Lite, Vurt Bushy is fine. The only trees that "Float" are the trees affected in the change. The rest are fine. As for how Jagged everything looks, it's not AA, it's just the meshes in general. All the models have kind of a "Pointed" look, which is a lot more pronounced in the original game, I just think it's something that can't really be overcome.

And yes, the animations are improved, but there's only a limited capacity because of the game's engine. Like I said, it's an amazing project.

Cute. Deal with it I suppose? I dunno. Morrowind's my favorite game on the planet, and that passion was rekindled a hundredfold with the MWoverhaul, but that doesn't mean I'm going to turn on the really devoted fan blinders.

One thing I find wierd about MW overhual, I run 60+FPS everywhere, except Arvel+Dren Plantation, when it bricks to under 10, wtf is going on there? It's literally just the Arvel-Dren plantation part of that isthmus.

Not so long as I'm considered a cultist for having an opinion I'm afraid.

Isn't that the very nature of a cultist though? Being part of an opinionated group willing to attack (Verbally or otherwise) someone with conflicting opinions?

Cool I can deal with it. Keep in mind you threw the first stone.
How is thinking the overhaul makes morrowind look better "turning on really devoted fan blinders" exactly.

Calm down, guys... You're allowed to like more than one game.

I LOVE Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion, and I'm sure I'll love Skyrim.

They each have their strengths and weaknesses, and I try to fill in the gaps with mods as best I can (I play with 200+ mods each!). That's why I also LOVE the mod community!

Cute, continuing to insult. That would make you a cultist also then. So I guess we are even. Although I attacked nobody verbally or otherwise until I was called a cultist for having an opinion (which I stand by)...

Look better than what? And what exactly are we talking about? Does it make Morrowind look better from Morrowind(Vanilla 2002), Yes. Does it make Morrowind look better than Oblivion(Vanilla 2005)? Yes.

Graphically, aside from some lighting features, Skyrim is better as of right now. Aesthetically? I can't say, I haven't seen enough of Skyrim to say how everything works together as a unified piece of art.

Cute, continuing to insult. That would make you a cultist also then. So I guess we are even. Although I attacked nobody verbally or otherwise until I was called a cultist for having an opinion (which I stand by)...

We need to be a little more specific in this debate, and just for the record, I attacked nobody. You assume a "Cultist" is a bad thing, and that's your prerogative. I belong to the "Games are art" cult, and I don't take the moniker as an insult. Hell, I hadn't even read your comment until after you lashed back out, wondering why the suddenly defensive posture.

More to the point though, I was referring specifically to the Graphics, as in my above sentence, I haven't seen enough of Skyrim to formulate an opinion on how well the aesthetic design of the game has been created, so far I'm hopeful, but we've only seen maybe 0.023% of the game? Maybe less.
