This is because it's the 360 version, it is meant to be viewed on a tv from across the room. A lot of people seem to forget the fact that the 360 isn't meant to be viewed up close on the PC, your going to be able to see the flaws but when viewed like it's supposed to on the tv, those flaws disappear. I watched the trailer on my tv through my computer when I first saw it when it came out, so I already had the view your supposed to see. The PC version will be meant to be seen close up on the PC so it will look smooth and perfect as well. People just need to remember in what context they are watching something or else they misinterpret it's true form.
That's totally wrong. The distance you should view something on a screen varies with resolution and screen size.
Higher Resolutions are to be viewed closer, while larger screens should be viewed farther away. A 32"screen @ 720p should be viewed at approximately 3-4ft away. Hardly "Across a room".
It's probably worth mentioning as well, that Trailer Quality is always actually lower quality than the true game, because of compression and a ton of other things. I honestly thought everything about New Vegas looked hideous, until I finally got it, and saw it was just ugly, quite a step up! Of course, it works both ways, the Lower quality creates a level of visual bias that hides flaws.
Hit detection was definitely "iffy" there. Was that Dovahkiin?
It's hard, maybe impossible to tell if that was actually hit detection, or animation lag. It could have looked perfect in First person view, frankly though, I've never been a fan of the 'Twirl strike" attack anyway.
