Whether you like those doesn't matter. If that's all you've played then you are very inexperienced with the Zelda series, which has undergone much greater changes over time than TES series has.

Yes I suppose it has, due to it being on handheld platforms as well as consoles. But recently speaking, I haven't seen much change in the series on the Wii for instance or on the ds.

The Legend of Zelda series has always been a solid, mainstream game put out by a great company. If any game could beat Skyrim fairly, it would be a Legend of Zelda game.

I think people are a little too tough on Skyrim's bugs though.

A game this massive is bound to have bugs. It is to be expected, so I don't understand why everyone whines about it.

You -have- to be trolling about the "no change for the Wii" part. SS is such a huge step forward, you haven't played TP and SS for sure. SS itself is much recognized as even better than OoT.

As much as I love the Zelda games, there's really nothing new about them, it's the same basic story structure and gameplay coupled with my happy memories of playing it years ago.
People there are voting for the Zelda games as a series, instead of voting for the game only. The reason their voting for the series as a whole is because of the stark similarities between every single game.

Just going to play devil's advocate here, what is so new about Skyrim?

Zelda fans are voting with multiple accounts, so G4TV's voting process makes the award meaningless. Its more a measure of which has the more pathetic fans, not which is better.

That said, I used to enjoy Zelda games when I was younger, but the chibi style has really lost my interest.

1. The Combat system Has been redone
2. The Interface has been Redone
3.The World is Breath taking
4. Radient STORY(Ob Did have Radient AI Not story
5. EXTREMELY Dark and gritty
6. Random quests(LOVE THEM!)
7.Crazy Choices That Are VERY Grey
8.Massive amount of creature
9.Dragons
10. AMAZING Daedric quests
11. CRAZY sixual Refernce
12. Mariage
AND SO MUCH MORE

Maybe if Bethesda had released Skyrim as a functioning game I'd of voted for it. Or if they actually developed the series instead of cutting out and "streamlining" more and more features. Maybe if they didn't develop the game with graphics half a decade old in order to cater to the weak consoles. Maybe if the series hasn't suffered years of consolation I'd vote for it.

As it stands Skyrim was released broken and doesn't feel like anything more than Oblivion 2. Give us an actual Elder Scrolls game and I'd crusade for it all day. However for this game, not a chance. Bethesda doesn't deserve a GOTY award. They should not be rewarded for this.

Voting for Skyward Sword!

I much preferred Witcher 2 myself.

Damn straight. I love The Elder Scrolls, but Bethesda is heading in the wrong direction in my opinion.

CD Projekt deserves nothing but the utmost respect, and their statement about the futility of DRM versus piracy, about how it only serves to screw legitamte customers - really resonated with me. As long as they keep acknowledging the PC as the technologically superior platform, I will continue to be a loyal customer.
