In case anyone hasn't seen it yet, G4TV is having a "Best Game 2011" competition on their site. Skyrim is in the Second to last round up against Skyward Sword, and is losing by less than 1%!!! It has been back and forth since the voting for this match up started.

I've been a hardcoe Elder Scrolls AND Zelda fan since childhood, and though I have yet to play Skyward Sword, I doubt it could match the magnificence of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. As such, I voted for Skyrim, and if you feel the same way, I urge you to do the same.

Trolls aside, I'm pretty sure the polls are bugged.. they keep going back and forth (Each game getting 51% like every other hour). Regardless, everyone should vote.

Skyrim blows every other game outta the water .

It's been extremely even for days. If g4tv wasn't a [censored] tv station I'd care. It is pretty incredible that Skyward Sword is competing with Skyrim, just because Skyward Sword has sold less and is on fewer platforms. I wonder how many people voting for each option played each game.

As much as I love the Zelda games, there's really nothing new about them, it's the same basic story structure and gameplay coupled with my happy memories of playing it years ago.
People there are voting for the Zelda games as a series, instead of voting for the game only. The reason their voting for the series as a whole is because of the stark similarities between every single game.

I will be honest with you.

GOTY for me was Shogun 2 for several reasons not to be mentioned in this forum. Skyrim was good indeed, but definitely not GOTY for me.

Plus I find several games in that list not worth to be there, so I will pass the voting as well.

Meh, Zelda's a good game. Would prefer Skyrim to lose to that over MW3 or something along those lines.

Skyrim deserves GOTY without much doubt, anyway, this is nothing more than a popularity contest. If It came down to voting, probably Lady Gaga would be elected as the best musician of all time.
