Skyrim Losing to Zelda Skyward sword in Duel!

I tried both and I will be honest, even thought I will probably spend much more time on Skyrim, Skyward is much more polished and well made.

Yeah, I barely put 138 hours into Skryrim so far. It's not even really a game as much as it is an interactive storybook. The combat is a large portion of the game, and it's terrible. The rest of the game is just roaming from town to town standing around listening to what everyone has to say and picking up the same random quests that you did from the previous town.

I guees you never played Morrowind nor Oblivion right? Because if you do, and you liked those, your words have nosense.
The "roam" from town to town is the BEST part of the game... walking around, exploring, finding hidden places in the roads, etc etc.
Go, keep playing zelda my friend, that game SUITS YOU WELL ...

Sanctuary, look man I have nothing against you personally, but I've been lurking on these forums for the past several months and I just wanted to say I've NEVER.....EEEEEEEEVER seen a positive post by you. WHY are you posting on this forum? Go to the Zelda forum right? I mean, wouldn't you rather be around like minded individuals? Why stick around a forum, that's for a game you have NOTHING but complaints about, talking to FANS of said game? And today, your posts are about how much better a completely un-related game is? There's other people in this thread saying similar things, but, I'm willing to bet none of them have had the sheer amount of bile concerning Skyrim come out of them that you've had come out of you.

YES OF COURSE EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION

But when every.....single.....[censored].....thing is negative? Man....just move on dude. Just move on.

If you think that this game is terrible, why would you play it?

Was just using it to kill free time, and trying desperately to find something to like about it. There are things to like about it, but just as much that doesn't matter and isn't very enthralling at all. I don't like having to put myself in a specific mindset to get more out of a game than what is really there, and that's what the last two TES games have been like. You have to play in your head just as much as the actual game. Sorry, if I wanted to actually do PnP roleplaying, I'd do PnP roleplaying, not try to merge it with a video game just to make the video game more tolerable.

If Skryim had Morrowind graphics, I guarantee you people would be slamming it non stop, even if the rest of the game was the same as it is now. And do you know what that proves?

Just a quick question about Zelda, are you still fighting Ganondorf?

Spoooooooooooooooooiler:

Shockingly enough - no.

However Bowser is still kidnapping Peach when he isn't racing Mario on the track or challenging him to tennis (to be fair to Nintendo - they might not do much that is new they have got reinventing their wheels down to a fine art).

If I could only vote for ocarina of time...

I'm sure someone somewhere has a "Greatest Game of all Time" poll up (though I wouldn't personally vote OoT as GGE).

Alright, it's like comparing a HUGE game to a TINY game...
Then looking into details to compare them...
IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!

The right way to compare Skyrim to any game, is comparing the game as a whole...

You are blaspheming and with no hesitation! I played Morrowind countless times, complete quest and sidequests and I tell you, Skyrim is as good as that game. Perhaps a matter of taste? Yes. Perhaps a matter of perception? Perhaps.
But take this in count: You are arguing that a Zelda game is better than a Elder Scrolls Game, a game where is a civil war going on, a game where you can rob, kill in the night, decapitate opponents, etc, and Zelda, a game where colorfull boxers drop shiny pink sparks on you... oh yes... so Immersive! So spectacular game for kids!
Skyrim has bugs? May be! Morrowind had them too, I can recall a lot . There were no massive forums at that time, so this fenomen will not happened.
I got a theory.
The problem of TES series is NOT the game itself. Is its massification, so people like you, who play a childish game like zelda, come here to complain about things that dont really understand or dont really like. You bought skyrim to kill time you say? Then why you bother to come to this forum to fill those threads with complains about "repetitivity" that does not exist. Go play Zelda I say, and go to Zelda forums !!!

Never got Zelda, will get it this Christmas. I have played Zelda since OOT and liked all others after it (and before). Sure the games can be repetitive to some, but one isn't released every year. "Cough COD cough". I always enjoy a new Zelda game, but this is just me. As far whats better well, Zelda for the combat for course. Skyrim's combat still bad but def an upgrade for Obv. Skyrim is meant for rich lore, immersion, and discovery, also more content, MUCH more. Overall I think Skyrim will be the better game, even thou Bethesda games are very buggy, and Nintendo's games are usually extremely polished. I would of liked to see Dark Souls replace Skyward Sword, but meh IDRC about game rewards as long as I like it.

Zelda sold 600,000 worldwide its first week while Skyrim sold 7 million so obviously there are way more people who actually played Skyrim and presumably liked it as opposed to Zelda. I think it just proves that more Zelda fans are more concerned with having the letters G, O, T, and Y branded on there game as it will make it sooooo much better :P

Zelda sold less copies and is limited to a single platform, yet it's pretty much going toe-to-toe with Skyrim. What does that tell you? And don't bother with the "GOTY" thing. Just look at this thread: "OMG GUYS, SKYRIM IS LOSING! VOTE, VOTE, VOTE, YESSSSS!"

As for people voting purely for "Zelda" and not Skyward Sword -- how many people on here do you think would vote for a game so long as it had "TES" in the title? Skyrim is a joke compared to most of the previous TES games, but people refuse to believe it. Even if Zelda games are the same old thing, they're still of top-notch quality and continue the elements and aspects of Zelda that makes those games so great (while Bethesda is doing the exact opposite by removing the spell making system and revamping the mechanics).

I hope Skyward Sword wins. Skyrim doesn't deserve it.

Yeah but if that hand grenade blows up in your hand from faulty design... I might guess that you would vote for the firecracker for not destroying your hands and face.

Except to use your anology, Skyward Sword is a peppy little firecracker that gives a satifying crack when you light and toss it.

Skyrim is a hand grenade that blows your hand off because a developer forgot to code in a pin.

I love Skyrim and I think it deserves GOTY, but at the same time I honestly think it doesn't deserve it. No company/game should get away with having so much bugs and faults as Skyrim does, IMHO not giving Skyrim GOTY should be set as an example to future developers/companies everywhere. If Skyrim wasn't ready, then it should've not been released at 11.11.11 (It seriously did not need to be released at this "Cool" date).

But out of every game that I played this year, Skyrim is the best IMHO.

(Love/Hate relationship with Skyrim haha).

well said, Skyward is an amazing game and even more impressive for being only on 1 platform. But then sadly, we all know GOTY is about the number of fans :P

That it is an internet poll and regardless of which game wins the results are hardly going to be scientific since the voting process is probably shoddy as hell.

Do I imagine there are people out there who think this is important enough to make multiple accounts in order to vote multiple times? Why yes.

Do I imagine there are people who have only played one of the games or neither voting? Why yes.

Do I imagine people are voting on party lines or revenge voting or whatever? Why yes.

Do I imagine G4 might be influencing things a little in order to ensure lots of people will see "49% vs 51%!" and they will get lots of hits from people going there thinking "it is so close, my vote could be the decider!" Maybe.

Etc.

The pin is what keeps a grenade from blowing up.

If they forgot the pin my hands would be safe, it would have blown their hands off (unless it has a really long timer).
