Hi. Below is a link to my steam profile. The screenshot shows the image of my problem after downloading the new Patch. The Main menu will display the dragonborn symbol, but will not display any of the following options. Continue, New Game, etc. Thus I cannot enter the game, continue, or start a new game. I dont know if this will help other people. maybe they have the same problems.

Edited: Also I waited about half an hour and the menu never showed up. It still was black the dragonborn symbol was still there and the smoke effects still played.

You didn't uninstall all your mods yet, did you?

Try removing your .ini files (Not delete, just move them on your desktop or something) and have the game regenerate a new one. Then see what happens.

I asked around another forum and after removing what mods I had downloaded the problem persists. I had only a few mods.

Delete Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini and let the game create new ones for you.

Oh thank God someone else is having this issue. I was starting to think I was the only one after doing a google search and finding nothing. =/

Ok that seemed to fix the issue. But now when I try to load my game it says that my save game relies on content that is no longer available... continue? So yeah I looked at the options before you load the game and it appear that the Data Files option is now greyed out and all the mods I had installed that used this probably are not being loaded now. Any suggestions?

Go into an interior (cave/house), save without mods, then exit, reactivate mods, load, then save, and see if that does it.

I found a solution for that part. Add [Launcher] bEnableFileSelection=1 to the My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.ini file.

That allowed me to load my mods back up but now the menu is gone again. Apparently one of the mods must be having a conflict. I will try and add each one separately and let you know which is causing the problem.

I also had this problem. Turns out that the mod Vals Crafting Meltdown Alpha was to blame.
As for the grayed out Data Files thing, you gotta change "bEnableFileSelection=0" to "bEnableFileSelection=1" in SkyrimPrefs.ini located at Documents > My Games > Skyrim. BE SURE TO MAKE A BACK-UP FIRST.

Haha, I was just about to post the same thing. I wouldn't say hes to blame, but his mod is what is causing the issues. More than likely they changed some code or something that broke his mod. Hopefully he can fix it, I really liked that add on.

It would seem that the no arrows edition of the mod still works. Now to go back to Skyrim and hope for the best.

I had also used Vals Crafting Meltdown. This is probably what had caused the error. I removed all the mods tried again and the problem was still there. after backing up my .ini file and letting the game create new ones the problem was fixed. Thank you all for your input I appreciate it.

Edited: Confirmed Vals Crafting Meltdown conflicted with thread problem. After deleting it and replacing it back into data folder blank screen problem happens again. However now I cannot delete the file says it is still being used by skyrim although I am logged out and in the task manager i closed steam.
