Xs on Skyrim Map

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 7:24 am

I was just taking a look at the recent pics of the map and looked a bit closer, what i noticed were little X's in various places. Do you think this is nothing or maybe there's something in store for us at these X mark the spot's?

Well, it obviously isn't nothing. Beyond that, we don't know.

Anyone got any ideas on what they might be?
Personally i think they may be shrines or something along those lines

Crosses on the Morrowind map were shipwrecks.

The most logical explanation for the Skyrim ones I've come up with so far is that they're those standing stones that resemble birthsigns from previous games.

Alduin went 'round and carved huge X's into Skyrim. Just for banter.

Sigh...there are 13 standing stones. There are more than 13 X's.

Flying Nordic ships that have crashed into the land!

Logic, I'm doing it right.

There are 20 X.

One of them is in the Lake Kynalth (Or something like that, on top of "Falkreath Hold"), so I don't think that they are Standing Stones.

I'm more curious about the road leading to MW and another place, as well as the islands. They have said there will be fewer, but much bigger DLC this time around... Who knows.

There's 13 birth signs in the TES franchise. That makes 13 different kinds of stones, maybe that's what they meant?

I do believe it's still the most logical explanation, seeing as there's an X on the road to Riverwood, which we've seen in the gameplay footage.

Yup, didn't have time to get back to you yesterday, there are actually 20 of those. I just hope those are NOT markers for the dragon's lairs.
