Skyrim Maps

The demo pathway is better, but still not right. Remember that Todd first walks down to the river, and then starts walking alongside it before he reaches Riverwood.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xwboyafbwc#t=04m48s Todd actually makes his way slightly northeast until he gets to the river, then he follows it (going northeast) to Riverwood, before he crosses the river using the Riverwood bridge and rides up the mountain and heads west to Bleak Falls Barrow.
(The Guardian Stones are the downward-facing "pointer" next to the river, south of Bleak Falls Barrow.)

Otherwise, I really like the map and the enviromental notes and screenshots. :)

Yes I will have to work on the pathway a little bit more but I'm close enough :)

Looking at this map: http://i.imgur.com/rYmI4.jpg (Thanks to Luke Skyrimmer)

...it definitely looks like that town NW of Riften is Shor's Stone, not Shor's Shrine.

From the looks of the concept art that's been released is also seems the windmill shot from the trailer is most likely near Solitude.

Hmm I though High Hrothgar was on the highest peak of the Throat of The World.

Hmm I though High Hrothgar was on the highest peak of the Throat of The World.

yes it is settlement of the grey beards (only concept art of it is shown ,it seems most of it might be interia of the mountain) ,grey beared are believed to be passsivist mortals who live in silence to perfect the voice magic High Hrothgar is along to the end of the 7000 step path towards the peak ! i recon any low level player who make it up there will get shock from how expensive the economy services are up there ! just make sure to bring pen and paper to speak with them first unless you want to be blowen off the mountain ,when saying hello haha

info not on speculation map

http://i.imgur.com/rYmI4.jpg swapped possition with markarth side ,so where markath should be is now karthwasten

karthwasten is now only seen as village ingame map ,i think i remember seeing this on one of the youtube gameplay leaks

http://dorkshelf.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads//2011/01/skyrim20map.jpg is another location just south west of winter hold

I doubt that the grey boards even have an economy (as in shops) :P I imagine they live in cave-like settlement and they don't really stock up on food and sell, they just hunt in packs and consume their catch of the day like wild creatures! Pretty interesting though, first place I will visit in Skyrim for sure, 7000 steps here I come!

Thank you guys for the help so far, any chance we get some new map previews in the coming weeks so that we can further improve the speculation map?

Cool, but a few things are wrong.

Oakwood is now called Helgen

Morthal is spelled Marthal

Granitehall, Kynesgrove, and Laintar Dale do not appear on the pre-order map so they are unconfirmed

Each province has there own law, meaning if you murder in one province of Skyrim, another province won't care. The land of Skyrim is split because there is no real government due to civil war.

Demo pathway is wrong. As are quite a few other things. Not really a very reliable fanmap at all, not that many fanmaps are. Anyway, other problems with the map: Town names are wrong, towns on there that don't exist in game, some towns/cities missing, that picture is not of the throat of the world, not all holds correctly identified, seperated by lines, some regions colour-coded incorrectly, outline slightly off, etc.

And ...? you don't like it? or this is a practice on negativism.

While we have seen the game played in quite a few events, few of us had any idea where everything happened in the game world. Bethesda has released a map of Skyrim to remedy that absence of knowledge, and with it we can speculate on where the events in the demos are localized.

The user “The World Eater” has been through his paces and has deduced where the demo happened as well as the general environment of the major regions. There is quite a bit of variety in environments, ranging from tundra, pine forests, fall forests and mountainsides as well as snowy barrows and seas.
The starting point of the demos and the areas that most appear in the trailers seems to be next to Riverwood next to the village Oakwood. The demo Todd Howard shows featuring the dragon fight is to the south of Whiterun.

Some other points of interest would be the Winterhold Mages Guild in the northeast of Skyrim and the Thieves Guild HQ over next to Riften to the southeast.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be release on 11.11.11 on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

The map that "Bethesda released" has been around for months. It was fan made. Look in the bottom right corner and you can see who made it.

Here is a bigger version of the FAN MADE map:
