Skyrim's Marketing Campaign

I just hope my general rule for advertizing fails for Skyrim.

That rule being that the more they push it, the worse it must be.

I honestly dont give rat's dung about advertising. Who would, really? Why do I care if the game sells or not? That does not affect me in any way. Lots of amazing games out there that didnt get recognition. Sure, its sad, because that means there wont be a sequel, or a good studio dissapeared. But thats not enough of a concern for me to make a thread about it, even less so with a game like TES. Im pretty sure by now everyone who played Oblivion have some knowledge Skyrim is coming out. And the OP presupposes game sites are a niche only afew visit. Dude, its 2011. Far more people are into gaming than ever before. So unless you make a study about how many people frequent gaming sites, are subscribed to magazines, and compare it woth estimates of gamer population, your point has absolutely no basis.

I find the relatively heavy-handed advertising...... telling.
