Skyrim Mod Count

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:44 am

Just curious to see how aggressively people are adding mods to Skyrim. There are already so many really great hi-res texture mods out there, the game looks much better than it did just a few weeks ago. Also some good mods for the UI, crafting/smelting, conditional water (marshes/rivers/ocean), better smoke effects, much more detailed faces, and yes, even one that makes Skyrim use 4GB+ of memory (which also fixed my CTD issues).

Some examples:

Using a face one and an eye one. Pretty much it for now. That weapon retex looks awesome, may have to try that one.

I didn't bother linking them, but a quick look on www.skyrimnexus.com and you won't have any trouble finding them.

Was using face and eye one, will use more in future.

By the way in those shots the armour before looks better than the armour after in my opinion (assuming before is on the left). The after shot looks like sci-fi armour not fantasy armour.

Edit: and wow, that weapon retex will be one of the ones I use

Around 5 I think, will use a lot of visual ones eventually, but I'm waiting for larger projects to get finished, I don't like having lots of low res textures mixed with high res textures.

60 mods installed.. And that list is only growing - I love Tes modders, they keep to lore, and release top notch work

I dont use any Cheat mods. Only texture mods, bug fixes, and graphic enhancers.

The texture mods havent had a single effect on my fps, so in my mind theres really no excuse not to use em :)

All I have is Skyrim: Enhanced Shaders, killable kids, and naked bodies.

The only reason I have the latter is because it's more satisfying to strip someone of their armor and leave them completely nvde and propped up against a road sign than it is for them to still have a loincloth.

Once the CK comes out, I will have hundreds of mods. Mostly self-created. I like the games suited 100% for me, so I tend not to use too many "community" mods.

Untill I found a combination, mixed installation of Detailed Faces, Detailed lips, fountain of youth, high quality eyes, no dirty bodies, no more blocky faces, proper clean female bodies, really smooth felame faces

I used one of the nvde mods as well, they tend to have pretier hands, collarbones ect.

The wife laughed a tad, but wth can a lad do if slightly obsessed with details.

Same here. I have yet to put any mods on during my first run through it but damn those mods look great so far. So glad I have this on the PC and it will look even better when fully modded.

If you saw how the nvde male bodies looked, you'd take that back.

Just a Psiijic retex and some random crafting mods. Gonna wait for the CK to come out before I "hunt."

None yet. I've put about 100 hours into the vanilla game, and am now taking a break while the mods build up. Then i'll start a Dead is Dead playthrough in a heavily modded version of the game, with overhauled graphics, UI, realism, etc. etc.

I don't usually use texture enhancing mods. It seems like that's the only type of mod that exists.

I normally use a nvde mod too, for the same reason. Passed it up for Skyrim since my 7- and 9-year old boys both like to play it.

1 mod. I will add more mods after the editor is released next month. I wont add too many too fast because I dont want to mess up my game and force me to restart

About 15, both texture replacements and mage alterations, but I've set aside the game pending the work of modders with the actual CK.

I have mods, but they are what cause me to ctd I find. I tested out a modless vs. texture mods. I didn't crash without mods.

That said, IMO texture mods essential.

I use ~2,2GB of texture replacers because nearly every vanilla texture looks really ugly on high resolutions

I use a 4GB launcher

I use 0 plugin files (esp) atm because there are some good out but non which I would use because of lore/immersion. So I typed my ideas in a textfile and currently try to find out how to modify them for my wishes ;)
