Skyrim Mod In Pre-Production

Post » Thu Oct 13, 2011 2:12 pm

I'm intrigued - would love to see it in action. I'll be sure to keeping checking in on its progress.

i have a suggestion... how about you play the game first before you change it....

He's not fixing anything, he's adding new content.

I have a better suggestion... how about you shut up and be thankful? These guys aren't just some random amateur blokes who make a minor mod here and there, they are professionals and they work like professionals. It requires tons of work creating the concepts, storylines, environment, planning how it plays out etc. It's not like they can just copy/paste some NPCs in a cave since they want to offer +20 hours of more gameplay. If they have all the 'blueprints' and ideas done, polished and ready to go at release day, they can start working on the actual creation of the mod right away.

Members from Blizzard?
My beloved Blizzard?
I'm REALLY looking forward to this!

Can you name few things which you guys are planning to mod for now?

I hope that invincible children will be one of them.
It really bothers me that children can't die even though that makes no sense at all no matter how you look at it (it's also really hypocritical actually).
I personally love children (in a good way) and would never hurt one, but making them invincible is just silly. :ermm:
Also, it will add more weight to the game when you fight near a kid and you'll actually need to be careful around children in order not for them to get hurt.
Invincible children are nothing but a moving and talking furniture. >_>
Also, if someone wishes to kill children, let them.
TES is suppose to be all about freedom and allow to do what you want, but face the consequences for your actions.
Not to mention that it's a video game, and video games are meant to allow you do things you are not suppose to do irl.
Hell, I bet that domestic violence would go down if there was 'beat the crap out of your kid and then flush him down the toilet' simulator since angry parents could take their anger on the virtual children instead of real ones.
I could go on for really long time and give reasons why taboo about killing children in video games is simply idiotic, but I'll get away from topic too much.

Apart from that, I would really like to see things like separate lover and upper armor parts, removal of forced 3rd person during finisher moves and horse riding, dual-wielding block and a hard core mode (returns gear degradation, player must eat, drink and sleep, etc.).

There are lot of other things I could list here, but I think that I would need to play the game first in order to bring proper judgment about them.
For now, I've just listed things I find really irritating about the game and I know that they will be irritating even when I play it.

i have a suggestion... how about you play the game first before you change it....

Don't criticize things you don't understand, twit. >_>

Great teaser... If the ideas match the trailer's quality, we may be in for a wonderful treat. Please tell us more :)

Definitely exciting to see what people will come up with, not that the quality of the game and its assets are much higher. Will give modders better tools to work with off the bat.

Good Luck... :foodndrink:

Also, let's not start any hating please, let's focus on the topic... It'll just clutter the thread with nonsense. :toughninja:

I'm glad that we're getting this kind of mod support.

That was an epic looking trailer if i ever saw one. Very professional! If that
had been for an upcoming new game, I would of been all over it seeking
information, checking forums, searching for pics etc.

Good to know some have already planned some serious modding to the
game even though it is not out yet..and on such professional level at that.

This really made my day!

P.S. All the screenshots from Hunted: Demon's Forge was it, the level
shown... reminds me very much design-wise of Dark Souls. I really like
the artistic style of it.

As you seem to grab every oppurtunity to show your aversion towards modding, I have a suggestion for you as well. But I′ll probably get banned when saying it out loud. I think it′s safe to assume that you don′t even understand what drives a modder in the first place and what it is that mods can actually do for a game like Oblivion or Skyrim.

With that out off the way: I saw the announcement at TESAlliance a while ago and it looks very exciting so far. Hope to see a dedicated WIPz thread with regular updates in the Skyrim mod forum.

Hey, why don't you watch the trailer, here I'll repeat it for you "Winter 2012", that's right, one whole year, oh wait, maybe you think they cannot complete the game in one year.
