Skyrim - more advlt game?

Post » Wed Apr 06, 2011 1:48 pm

Hi guys, when you think about all these aspects of Skyrim (music, story, world...) do you have the feeling that is everything more realistic, dramatic then Morrowind, Oblivion?
I have a feeling, like its Skyrim more advlt game, which is alright by me

Definately more blood and gore :toughninja:

yeah I think it will be more brutal and dark, Todd said that in the magazine many times, the battle was more brutal and that the setting was more brutal, the gameplay will form itself after the harsh world Skyrim is.

TES, More brutal... Yay or Nay?

More advlt in every way possible, please. Give it a 21+ rating if needed.

Edit: Including six and violence. I want the whole package.

Considering it's likely to get an M rating anyway, I think they just ought to not worry about boundaries. I'm not saying I want extreme six and violence in the game, but if they wanted more mature themes, there's no reason for them to hold back.

I agree with this VERY much. More six, violence, and I'll add cursing. Does NOT make a more advlt game. I do believe they will make it a more advlt game in playability, story, complexity, graphics, and more fear inducing.

morrowind wasn't dark.

oblivion had a darker theme than morrowind imo, as for skyrim it will most likey be rated m due to having all the mature aspects of oblivion, except skyrim will be more realistic

You can find a lot of "advlt" Games where you can design a character, who you want to be "Violent" :flame: with or multiple people and lots of "personal moments" :hugs: however I don't want skyrim to be one of those games :P

Then the popular answer would be...mod it.Burr...that send shivers up my spine. I'd hate to think of TES in that light.

given the connotations given to the word "advlt" in the entertainment world, I'd rather TES5 is more "sophisticated"

I bet it's the "kids" that are calling for that stuff anyhow. The minds of these immature mutants...have become so warped in recent years.

Darker stories, more advlt meaning and grey, tough non good/evil choices, and yes, properly brutal violence (think Braveheart or Valhalla Rising) but nothing sensationalist or exploitative please. six is okay but not as a focal point. Avoid the Witcher's adolescent baiting and God of War's threesome mini-game, but sixuality/prostitution could play a role for sure.

No TES game has gotten a "M" rating, Daggerfall would have had they had ratings at that time.

Skyim will not get a "M" rating for the simple fact that they want as many to legally buy the game as possible. That means nothing more than a "T" rating.

I'm 16, and i don't want "extreme blood, gore, and six."

I want a more complex story, with some meaning to it.

And, Oblivion had an M rating, Mr. Engraving Man

From the absolutely gorgeous screenshots in Game Informer, the sheer scale and colors of the game that I've seen so far, I would say that anything less than a mature rating would tie Bethesda's hands from making Skyrim truly great. When I see shots of the game, I feel like Bethesda is going for a game suited for mature audiences. Of course, it is also misleading to choose a content rating from screenshots, but I just don't get the "this is a game geared toward teens" feeling.

I'll have to look at my box, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't say "M" anywhere on it. I might be wrong, but I was sure it wasn't. I'll look again.

Yes, i was talking about the setting, brutal combat ...
For example Oblivion was a bit "children appropriate" for me.

The mass audience for this game will be advlt i think, and the game really is looking to be going that way at bit more. Beth have to remember that the gamers have aged along with the series and young players from Morrowind and even Oblivion are advlts now, and want more appropriate themes seeing as though they are the basis and hardcoe support for the series.

@TheEngravingMan

Oblivion was released as a "Teen" rated game, but after some controversy over some aspects of the Dark Brotherhood missions, the game was upgraded to a "Mature" rated game after release.

I'm sorry, I just can't help laughing out loud and crying at the same time. IT'S A COMPUTER GAME!!!

It saddens me so that we as parents have so little faith in our own skills to raise children, and so little faith in our children to tell the difference between reality and fiction, right and wrong, that we have to label everything with appropriate ratings decided by politicians.

I grew up without censorship ratings, and wow! I turned out ok!
