skyrim needs gore and dismemberment

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 1:07 pm

This game needs to have gore and dismemberment like fallout. I'm a bit worried I watched the trailor and looked at the screenshots. I didn't even see a drop of blood this game better not be another final fantasy.

No, it doesn't. A teen-rated light-hearted fantasy doesn't need gore.

what???

I saw blood

and they can't cut people's head off in the official trailer, cause some activist freaks might go insane.

I'm sure more gore is in the game, they just can't show it in trailers I guess :P

No. I don't want fallout 3 gore, that was just terrible. The gore was completely unrealistic and it made me want to throw the game at the wall. Its the main thing I hate about fallout 3

Some gore is alright, but dismemberment can be kept out IMO.

I wanna be able to cut off someones arm and pay a 40 dollar fine, walking off scot-free and leaving them to try to be a one armed lumberjack or smith.

^^ Fallout 3's gore was more like cartoon violence - with the Bloody mess perk - you would shoot someone in the leg ,and then the whole body would explode..

I prefer it to be more subtle and realistic , which with Skyrim is i believe what they are aiming for. :>

Since when was TES a "teen-rated light-hearted fantasy" game?

Morrowind may have been Teen rated yet it wasn't "light-hearted" Daggerfall and Arena were full of tit's so I can't see how that could be Teen rated and light-hearted. And Oblivion didn't seem light-hearted or very "Teeny" to me.

I say put realistic gore in the game, not over the top with parts flying everywhere and blood squirting out of cuts and stuff like that.

In the trailer he beheads a skeleton and also cuts the skeleton's arm off. So gore is in for sure.

First of all there was certainly blood in the trailer as others have mentioned and Fall Out 3's gore fitted the Fall Out series more (and poorly done at that to a degree) which can not be said of TES. Something between Fall Out 3 and Oblivion would be optimal as far as gore is concerned.

A bit of blood and gore is alright. But once you get to like, Dragon Age style blood and gore, that was a bit much. Seriously, being literally covered in blood, with gallons of it spewing out every time you hit someone is just stupid and way too over-the-top.

I wouldn't mind blood and such that would fit the kind of gritty and grim setting of the game.
However, I think anything over the top, anywhere close to Fallout 3 is too much.

Huh? I think after Oblivion got rated M Beth decided to drop that. In case you haven't noticed Skyrim looks much more dark and serious.

definately not a T rated game, they want it to be darker, heavier and more gritty than oblivion. Oblivion is rated M, so dont expect Skyrim to be any less, but i'm not too sure about dismemberment, i could do without, I would like visible wounds on npcs though, and it would be nice if arrows would actually stick out there backs sometimes, because all arrows went in the same depth, but i trust them.
