Skyrim's new music!

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 5:38 am

Cept for the patent or trademark or whatever they filed about the name "Skyrim"

Did any screenshots, info, or music get leaked before Skyrim was announced? No. Didn't happen then, not happening now.

I don't think it sounds fitting for what it represent. It's good and I like it though. I personally think it's not Jeremy Soule.

Gstaff should be here making things clear.

I expected a track called "Thu'um do Markarth" to sound a bit louder.

Very peaceful and a tranquility to get lost in yet all aware to the grand scheme of things. The frozen mountains and snow touched landscape of SKYRIM appeared before my eyes the moment THU'UM DO MARKARTH began playing.

Thank you for this great song whether it is SKYRIM or something else.

Not sure, in markarth, there's a mountain where some isolated people are meditating, listening to the wind to know dragon's language: thu'um.

So it can fit the story

I'm not sure why, but I have always thought that the theme of Pirates of the Caribbean would fit well in this series. Well, any of the music from those movies really. I guess it's just that the music in those movies is so well composed, and fits the action/adventure/suspense of the film so well. Hire that composer! Or the guys from the Halo series, by far my favorite game soundtrack EVER.

Yes PotC Theme was copied a little bit in OB

EDIT: On topic... This makes me think of myself just walking towards my mailbox the day skyrim arrives and hearing this song might fit.... Even if it is not part of skyrim... Still it's just like... Ok skyrim.... im coming to get you.... there it is......

The Oblivion theme was based on the Morrowind theme so technically the PotC theme copied from the Morrowind theme.

Plus if you actually listen to the two, they sound almost nothing alike.

Well it does sound like Soule. It's possible he released the track on his own as a "sample"?

nice song, I'll hold my judgment until it gets officially confirmed or denied, however, it does sound kinda neat (though maybe a bit too cheerful for skyrim, needs more drums).

Fake or not, the sound track for Skyrim will easily surmount Oblivion's soundtrack.

This sounds totally awesome.
I really hope it's no fake but I won't believe that it's real till any official is confirming it.
Just had my piece of fake today with a Generals 2 Teaser :D

It sounds awesome, although it could use more drums and less cymballls in the end, but I′m just beeing nit-picky...

Hi!

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8ZQOFAce7c

So, for the title, a lot of people think it means: The voice of Markarth. Indeed, Thu'um is the power of the dragon shout, and Markarth Side is where the Imperial College of the Voice has been built.

I love the music

sounds like something you would hear in dragon age origin or Halo reach... more DAO

Yeah, it sounds like Dragon Age's because of the voice.
I'll listen to halo reach's sound track...

Sent Pete Hines a quick tweet to check. Hopefully he'll clear it up for us. I agree it sounds beautiful, but given how much they were stressing a move into drums and rugged sounds... I'm not sure. Then again, they must have some slower tunes in there, and it is an amazing tune.

There probably won't be any drums all the time in the soundtracks.

The soundtracks must feel natural and pretty "calm" (not really the right word, but oh well), else you'll eventually get a headache. Your ears need to rest.
That's why Morrowind's soundtracks were so calm, while the main theme was so... epic.
