Skyrim , NMM, and Steam

Currently setting up NMM for skyrim, and I have skyrim installed in my steam files, but the NMM is recommending I put my mods in.....c:\games\nexus mod manager\skyrim\mods .... should I change the install location because I am using steam? or is this fine?

I made a folder named Skyrim mods on my desktop and i've done it so the NMM downloads go straight there.

Edit: No i actually use the same folder as you get suggested, only manual mods go in the abovementioned folder i use.

So yes this works just fine. :)

If you installed Steam in the C:\Games directory (which you should) then Skyrim gets installed there. So, the NMM is going to put your mods near where the game is installed. Me, I move this folder to my data drive and not my OS/Games drive, but that is just me.

It really does not matter where NMM sets up it's mod directory, it's just there to store the mods you download.
