Today's the big game ! If it was Skyrim Nords -vs- Aldmeri Thalmors, who do you think would win ? Anyone gonna RP this ?

I say Nords. Especially if the Thalmor were invading Skyrim. They already dealt with the Snow Elves.

Hard to say because of the factors that we lack in the OP. The Thalmor lost to Hammerfell which one can say is equal to Skyrim in many ways.

Yeah but those were the ancient cool Nords. They had tongues, warriors who use the Thu'um to shout down their enemies and their walls. Today's Nords are not the same conquering types of the past.

Edit: Ok, someone said Hammerfell beat the Thalmor. If the Redguards could do it, so can the Nords.

Good point. But considering that the Imperials probably would have won The Great War if it were not for Titus Mede's cowardice, I still say Nords.

So long as the thalmor don't bribe the ref's into making unfair bad calls... I say physical vs physical.. that means no magic you elves! haha I see the nords winning.

I agree, I choose Nords over Imperials any day.

Nords. To paraphrase something I read on another forum a long time ago, there is one thing they possess in such overwhelming amounts that the Thalmor cannot possibly hope to prevail against it:

Aldmeri armies crumbled like butter a weakened Empire and also were unable to conquer a seemingly broken and divided Hammerfell.

Whereas Nords have a history of defeating multiple armies in single battles.

So yeah, Nords.

Of course, this is assuming that one is not attempting to invade the other and that they are fighting in say, Cyrodiil.

I'm pretty sure both sides will cheat and the Thalmor will get a red card for trying to knock down the Nord seeker by ramming into his broom. Nords will probably get the snitch first.

Many of you vastly underestimate the cunning of the Aldmeri Dominion and its agents. The Blades, an entire organization that relies on subterfuge in order to protect the Empire from all threats, was completely eliminated in outside countries, with the Grand Master completely unaware. They possess a superior affinity and respect for magic, which the Nords do not. As for sheer strength? Well, it's true the Nords have an edge there. They are rather strong, brave, and humans reproduce at a higher rate than elves. Nevertheless, the Thalmor are not going to wage a slug fest against Skyrim.

As much as I'd love for the Nords to win, I have to say the Elves have the advantages.

I don't like armoured hand-egg but I still voted Nords.

Hevnoraak is probably going to jack this thread and post a huge ass paragraph about why the "decrepit troglodytes" stand no chance.

It really depends on where they are fighting. All we know is that neither would be successful in invading each others homelands.

In that case the Aldmeri Dominion, since the Thalmor could just pass using telekinesis while throwing mead bottles at the Nords to distract them and I guess they could just put up a ward if the Nords decide to tackle them.

Aldmeri Thalmors obviously. They'll just instill strife in the Skyrim Nords and then they'll just fight amongst themselves. Completely destroying their team spirit before the game even started.

The Redguards didn't beat all of the Dominion's forces, they beat the ones garrisoned in Hammerfell which could've been small, the whole point of asking for Hammerfell was to break humanity up and it worked.

Probably the Thalmor, as long as they remember to use flame or shock spells & not frost

They outnumbered the combined Redguard and Imperial forces in Hammerfell so there was no way they could be small, plus they were led by their own general. But yea obviously they didn't beat all of them.

The Nords cease their infighting, form alliances with outside races and sign up to some form of teeth straightening/dentistry program.
Or apocrypha freezes over.

You assume the Dominion kept their entire Hammerfell invasion force there, I highly doubt they did.
