Skyrim is not loved outside this forum

Post » Thu Aug 11, 2016 9:43 am

When you read the forum here one may think Skyrim is the best rpg ever, but on neutral gaming forums like Neogaf, it's torn to pieces so bad that it's depressing. I initially wanted to say my opinion in http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1260996, but I quit that thought after reading the first two pages. I'm like wtf, if everyone is bashing Skyrim then who are those bajillions of buyers and why don't they express themselves outside of the official forums?

last i checked the steam forums are still mostly positive, gamefaqs is half-and-half, Nexus is pretty positive..

one website (in this case neogaf) is not representative of the internet as a whole.. different forums have a different user base, as such different opinions.. there are about just as many forums where the masses like a game as there is those hate it

Positive reviews on Steam is not relevant to what upset me... those are the fans who pay for the game, play it and then give it a positive review. What upsets me is the bashing of Skyrim to make The Witcher seem much superior. That you can find in "versus" threads like the one I just read. There you meet the so-called "neutral" rpg fans who buy and play both games and then compare them supposedly in an educated and objective manner. it's there where people start bashing Bethesda and Skyrim. Nobody's bashing CDPR and Witcher. That shows some level of hate, and I don't mean rpg codex or the other fallout forum where being anti-Bethesda is a requirement. I mean general, "Casual" if you please, gaming websites like IGN, Gamespot, Neogaf, PCGamer,etc... the users were bashing Bethesda very very hard when Fallout 4 won the awards and Witcher 3 didn't.

I don't know how to say this any better than the way I can.

Please don't crucify me.

I like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but I can't enjoy playing it for more than thirty minutes to one hour a day when I play it.

I do enjoy playing a lot more The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I played it today fro two hours.

The features gone that I love when I play The Elder Scrolls video games like The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the armor and weapons degradation system and spellmaking.

The feature I don't like in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the regenerative health that Bethesda Game Studios added.

Also the level scaling of loot and NPC's I just don't like at all.

Not even mods will make me enjoy playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, even though I'm a PC gamer exclusively and I purchased the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PC.

With all of that said I do hope Bethesda Game Studios adds back the armor and weapons degradation system and spellmaking in The Elder Scrolls VI and no regenerative health, I think there will be no regenerative health since they didn't add it in Fallout 4 apparently.

Level scaling Bethesda Game Studios should take notes from CD Projekt RED and develop The Elder Scrolls VI to not have absolutely any level scaling of loot and NPC's and have a level upscaler option in the options menu to disable and enable like CD Projekt RED did in a patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Let me get this, you really think everyone who hates Skyrim on the internet is a Witcher fan in disguise? I dunno, I think there is -objectively- a chance some unbiased rpg fans consider Witcher the superior product with no hidden agenda, or boing on a payroll in Poland or anything

I think The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is better than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim because of the way the stories are written for the quests.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim though in terms of being able to create fully customizable female Player Characters (PC's) and male Player Characters (PC's) and that the Player Characters (PC's) can pick up almost every single item in front of her face and his face I think this is better for playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or any Bethesda Game Studios developed video game to create your own story.

CD Projekt RED will be doing this for Cyberpunk 2077. Bethesda Game Studios will now finally have competition. Competition is very good for any market.

No I totally understand, what you are offering is constructive criticism. Everyone is entitled to. What I don't like is people using harsh words like poop, [censored], [censored], Witcher [censored] all over Skyrim, etc. I find this childish and depressing and is ruining my pleasure of reading about rpg's in other "neutral" places outside official forums. Especially from people who pretend they played the game for 100 hours, and the conclusion is it's still boring [censored] and CDPR is head and shoulders above.

OMG someone just discovered the internet :hehe:

99% of the 'rpg talk' everywhere is [censored]posting, snarky edgy wannabe proclamations, my [censored] is bigger than your [censored] because my fav rpg's [censored] is huger than your fav rpg's [censored], etc... If you can't stomach this you better stay out of dangerous waters! Anyways I thought GAF was one of the most decent ones, I read plenty good stuff there in the past.
